We ordered take out as we have done many times over the years. First, we learned they Force you to pay gratuity--it's added on the receipt you sign with an Extra space for More Gratuity. Who does this?
Second, we both ordered out favorite. My wife had the boiled shrimp. Got it home, and she notice about 9 shrimp only with a whopping amount of potatoes--way more than usual. Looked around and didn't find any more shrimp--just the 9. Very upset, she ate what she had and after the first 2 shrimp, was disgusted. They were mushy and she wasn't letting it go. I got on the phone and spoke with a manager who did Not know how many shrimp was supposed to be in there; said that the kitchen hired a few new cooks; and that she needed to go talk to the kitchen manager to see what was going on. Umm....."lady, I just TOLD you what was going on!!". So we packed up her meal and took it back. When we said 'refund', this same manager heard my wife say "2 shrimp" and took the to-go plate back to the kitchen. After no more than 5 minutes, this manager came back out and said that there are 24 shrimp in this meal--she said on the phone she didn't know how many; already changing her story. Then she remembered my wife say "2" and had Already deducted it from the 24 and said that there were 22 shrimp left and she Will Not issue refund.
SO, not only did she call my wife a LIAR, she changed her story from phone to in-person, only heard my wife say "2 shrimp" and NOT how sorry the shrimp tasted, believed HER cook people over a customer, didn't look at my wife or even Flinch when she said "we won't be back", and Literally MARCHED back to that kitchen and SHOVED 22 SHRIMP INTO THE PLATE to make it look like the "new cooks" did their job and my wife was the problem.
Their food is horrible, their customer service is WORSE, and THIS MANAGER woman has No Business being anywhere near a customer!! We WILL be filing with the Better Business Bureau. We WILL be word of mouth, and INTENTIONALLY, about how sorry this business has become. We Will get our refund our way by giving other businesses OUR BUSINESS...
Read moreWe had a waitress on her first day and when inquiring about adding a catfish filet to an entree she said let me check on that. Then proceeded to bring the entree out with the extra filet. When we received our check the added filet was $10 - the whole entree itself was only $17. We were told by the hostess/cashier they usually will do a catfish filet kids meal, which costs around $5-6 and comes with a side. Our snarky waitress decided to come back out and tell us that we asked for the extra filet and that the owner said it was $10 and we would just have to pay that, even though the hostess who has worked there for years seemed VERY confused by this. Waitress said, “For future reference, if you don’t want to pay don’t order it”. We have no problem paying for our tab and have come here many times over the years, but not being told up front and then being overcharged was not the service we expected from a business this well loved. I don’t know that I will ever come back here to dine in again - especially if they have disheveled looking and snarky waitresses. We spent about $80 total between the two of us - her meal alone ended up costing $50 for one appetizer, entree (added one SMALL catfish filet), and a soda. That’s ridiculous. Food has always been excellent and it really hurt to experience such shoddy service from a place I have always...
Read moreI've heard good things and been wanting to try this place for a while. Upon our server's recommendation, we got the fried mushrooms for an appetizer. I think it's the first time I've ever had fried mushrooms with a cornmeal crust on them, and they were tasty!
I had the stuffed snapper with famous potatoes (pan fried red potatoes). I enjoyed it! The fish was fork- tender and the sauce was creamy and well seasoned. The potatoes were excellent. I didn't especially care for the crab stuffing, as it was too much bread for my liking. It tasted fine, just not my favorite texture. The potatoes were fantastic! Portion sizes are quite generous.
My husband had the jambalaya, which he enjoyed. He ended up bringing at least half of it home.
Both of our meals also came with a side salad which had fresh ingredients and house made dressing.
The service was excellent! Everyone was friendly. The atmosphere was homey. They were playing 90s country music, and one of the servers was singing along as she walked around, which I found delightful.
I would recommend this place to someone looking for down...
