Henry's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in D'Iberville

So I want to start by saying we went here a few times and had a great time on the karaoke nights so this review doesn’t seem biased. We met the owner Lance a few times visiting the bar and things seemed okay. Now last night, recently, we went to the bar for karaoke and the whole night was still good, until the end of the night when we decided to leave the bar. My wife, myself, and her sister decided to head to our car and saw the bartender on duty serving an intoxicated person another beer freshly opened. They actually let them walk out of the bar with that freshly opened beer and get into the vehicle intoxicated to drive. My wife being the Good Samaritan she is tried to stop the individual from driving and then, the intoxicated individual went back in and complained to the owner, Lance, and he came out and threatened my wife and sister, and myself. He said “This is my bar, I make the rules. If I wanna serve someone in my bar, despite their state of mind I can.” Be then goes on to threaten us by saying whatever happens once they walk out of the bar isn’t on him and that he is allowed to let people get into the car with an open container of beer and drive and that it’s not his problem. I tried to talk to him reasonably about the situation man to man... and was called a slew of inappropriate names, and told to F* off and never come back and then went on to call my wife a piece of trash for doing the right thing. I just want this out there to be known again it all began because my wife tried to stop a patron of theirs trying to drive drunk with a brand new open container beer that they had just servers, and Lance was very well aware of this situation. I want this out here as a review because people deserve to know the trust regardless of what happens because one of these days that could be your best friend, slide, or child hit by a drunk driver they let leave. I’ve been to plenty of bars and they never allow you to leave with a cocktail or open container. I’m also a casino employee and have had training on these types of situations and how to approach an individual drinking and gauging the situations to assess it properly. Please heed this review and if you ever see this happening again let someone know Or post a review so that this won’t be a situation where someone is victimized by drunk driving. This is the place i used to go and now it’s the place i will make sure i go!! Hannahlisa is an awesome bartender and the garlic Parmesan wings are the best I’ve ever had! If you like down home neighborhood bars to mingle and get a warm welcome then look no further!!! A diamond in the dark is what this place is!!! And if you know diamonds then you know they catch any light around them… even without light!! Don’t let this place slip by!!! Local pubs need support and this is one that deserves it!!! To jonathon blue and his wife… Two things: If you didn’t like what was happening oh well…open your own bar and run it your way! Not your business to babysit or police grown individuals. And you certainly don’t tell people how to do their job or run their business…just sayin’ you want to micro manage what’s not yours then try it at one of our casinos see how far you get!!! If you got good service and had a good time that’s all that matters. Don’t muddy the water with your opinion that had nothing to do with your personal experience! 2nd thing: Have a blessed night and drive safe…there are crazies...

First time was able to sit at the bar had a decent time.
