Honestly, if I can give a negative 5 stars, I would gladly do so. We are from Houston so we know good Vietnamese food since there are countless authentic good Vietnamese restaurants in Houston. We have been frequenting Kien Giang for the last couple of months since we are in Biloxi for work. On the 1st visit, my husband bit on something hard that was in his food. Upon inspection, there were pieces of metal from the steel wool that the kitchen staff used to scrub the pots and pans that some how ended up in our food. WHY WERE THESE STEEL WOOL PIECES IN OUR FOOD??? They were quite big pieces of metal and could have seriously hurt my husband if he had swallowed them. We brought it to the attention of the server and he begrudgingly took the cost of my husband's food off our bill .. BUT NEVER ONCE APOLOGIZE. On average, we have had to wait anywhere from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours for our food whenever we ordered togo - even when they are not busy. The food is ok but since they are practically the only Vietnamese restaurant that we know of in this area, we kept on coming back to them even though the service is terrible, slow and the servers (both the older woman and the older man) ARE ALWAYS RUDE AND SNAPPY. A few days ago, we ordered some food to go and requested NO ONIONS in our food since I am ALLERGIC to onions. When I was ordering, the woman was so impatient and was not listening as she was ANNOYINGLY tapping her pen on the chair while I was trying to place our food order. I kept on repeating over and over NO ONIONS PLEASE BECAUSE I AM ALLERGIC TO ONIONS for fear that she was not listening. I ordered the com thit nuong (rice with grilled pork) and bun bo xao (stir fry beef with vermicelli) and again, I REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES, NO ONIONS. I asked that the rice be fried and she told me would be an additional $2 charge which I said was fine. I also asked for extra grilled pork and was told that would also be another additional $2 charge and I said that was fine also. We waited over an hour again when she finally brought the food to us. Upon inspection, there was massive amounts of onions in all of the food, including the fried rice. When I pointed this out to the woman, she got really ugly about the whole thing as she rudely took the food back. She had the audacity to ask me "NO ONIONS???" as if I had not repeated it over 10 times to her while I ordered. THE WORST PART WAS THAT I ORDERED IN FLUENT VIETNAMESE AND SHE SPEAKS FLUENT VIETNAMESE AS WELL SO THERE WAS NO MISUNDERSTANDING!!! Upon looking at the receipt, I saw that she had also noted "no onions" all over the receipt as well so I don't quite understand the anger and attitude towards me when I clearly asked for NO ONIONS when I ordered and the receipt also indicated such. Well, we waited for another 30 minutes or so for our food to be remade - during which time, my husband and I agree that WE WOULD NEVER RETURN TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. The food is good but not good enough for us to be abused by the rude and mean staff- especially when they were the ones making the mistakes. When she brought the food to us again, she rudely tossed the food on the table and just walked off, no apologies... not one word - BUT ALL ATTITUDE!!! SHE CLEARLY WANTED FOR ME TO KNOW THAT SHE WAS ANGRY! When my husband went to pay, he noticed that she added on an additional $2 charge for some reason. When confronted, she claimed that it was for the fried rice which she had told me was $2 when I ordered but then she tried to say was $4. This rice was the same white rice that came with the grilled pork that I had asked if she could just have it fried with soy sauce and she stated $2 but now she jacked the price to $4. And the extra grilled pork that I asked for and paid the extra $2 - THEY DIDN'T EVEN INCLUDE IT IN THE FOOD. DID I MENTION TOTAL ATTITUDE THE WHOLE WAY???? YES!! TOTAL ATTITUDE AND AGGRESSION! We couldn't get out of that hell hole fast enough!!! We will not be returning. No food is worth the horrible way we were mistreated!!! WE DO NOT...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Kien Giang a charming Vietnamese restaurant nestled in Diberville/Biloxi. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu boasted a delightful array of authentic Vietnamese dishes, each bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. I started with the traditional Pho, and it exceeded all expectations - the broth was rich, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned, while the noodles were cooked to perfection.
For my main course, I indulged in the Grilled Lemongrass Chicken, which was a true culinary masterpiece. The chicken was tender, juicy, and infused with the delicate flavors of lemongrass and herbs. It paired beautifully with the fragrant Jasmine rice and fresh side salad.
To top it all off, I couldn’t resist trying their homemade Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which provided the perfect balance of sweetness and bold coffee flavor.
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were eager to ensure that every aspect of my dining experience was flawless. The cozy atmosphere and authentic Vietnamese cuisine made me feel like I was transported to the bustling streets of Vietnam.
Overall, my experience at Kien Giang was nothing short of exceptional. Whether you’re a seasoned fan of Vietnamese cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, I highly recommend paying them a visit. I can’t wait to return and sample more of their...
Read moreI absolutely hate to be this person because my sister and I been a loyal customer for the past two years we’ve been living here while we had no issues. Tonight, I ordered shrimp and chicken fried rice with crab ragoon. It wasn’t until I took my first three bites of my food that I noticed piece of hair, I felt disgusted and disappointed because like I said I never have any issues. I looked through the food some more and found a second piece of hair, I searched some more and found a third piece of hair y’all… at this point I’m shook. Three pieces of hair is pretty insane to me. These pictures don’t even do any justice, if I could upload the video I would. I instantly headed back to the restaurant to address the issue because this was completely unacceptable. I’m three months pregnant with my first child and it was very upsetting because I’m not just feeding for myself but for my baby as well… I explained to them that whoever is in the kitchen need to make sure their wear some type of hair net or somethinggggg. They quickly apologize and refunded me my money without any issues. I’m simply explaining my experience, maybe today was just a bad day. I really hate that this happened because it only take one incident to change someone’s perspective. I just wanted to spread awareness, I would hate for it to happen to anyone else, be mindful and pay attention when...
