Monterrey Mexican Restaurant Bar and Grill — Restaurant in D'Iberville

The food was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I both agreed we had not finished our full meal when out to eat in quite sometime, we usually need a to go box. But this time we definitely didn’t! He got tacos and I got the grilled chicken quesadilla and we both got rice & beans. It was so full of flavor and absolutely juicy and spot on! I’m currently pregnant so I had a virgin strawberry daiquiri which I love unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants they actually have daiquiris and not just frozen margaritas, it was delicious and full of flavor. My boyfriend got a White Russian and said it was delicious & creamy and definitely had plenty of liquor in it! Service was the reason it’s 4/5. We had a very nice server but I think they had him working the bar, our table and then several other tables which probably contributed to the lack of service.

We got our guacamole fresh but it came right when our food came out. It was ordered as an appetizer. Also we asked for additional chips for the guac as we had eaten all of ours. We waited awhile and it seems he had forgotten them. I had to ask someone else. We wanted to order more drinks but by the time he came around again, we had already finished our dinner and ready for the check.

Overall, food was tasty! I thoroughly enjoyed my enchiladas verdes! Best enchiladas verdes in the area. Guac was fresh and tasty. House margaritas were good.

I’ll visit again and maybe get better...

Came in for lunch… left feeling like royalty. Why? Because they made our guacamole tableside like it was a VIP performance. I’m talking avocado mashing with flair our server could’ve had their own show on Food Network.

We said “mild,” and they said “trust us” and they were right. It was the perfect blend of creamy, citrusy, and just enough kick to make your chips do a little happy dance.

At one point I caught myself guarding the bowl like a dragon protects treasure. My friend tried to double dip and I gave them the look.

The rest of the food was great, too; but that guac? That’s the memory that’ll keep me coming back.
