We had a group of 7. It wasn't terribly busy considering I used to see this place packed wall to wall, and today, there were enough tables empty, I'd say it never went over fifty, maybe fifty-five percent capacity.
The breadsticks were stale and missing the seasoning. The first time I've ever seen the olive garden breadsticks naked.
The waiter kept disappearing for a half hour at a time and mainly paid attention to his two people tables, any over that, and he stayed away.
When the waitress/food runner brought out the food for everyone, she handed my sister a hot plate quietly and waited until my sister burnt her fingers before mentioning "oh that's a hot plate by the way don't grab it" well then WHY DID YOU HAND IT TO HER QUIETLY AND NOT SAY ANYTHING?
Got the unlimited soup and had a bowl of soup....yes, a bowl, as in ONE bowl, because the waiter apparently didn't work there when we needed to find him. He would seriously just pop up only when we would go "Okay we'll ask someone else," and then BAM he appeared, but wouldn't stay long enough to even ask his question.
He literally was turning to walk away while also asking if we needed any refills. The sprite I got was at the end of the bag, so it was fizzy water, and it took fifteen minutes to get a glass of water with barely any ice in it after waiting for him to come back. He said he'd get me more sprite when they changed the bag, and that didn't happen.
The soup was more broth, weirdly enough, than any other major ingredients. The chicken and gnocchi had mushy, stale tasting dumplings, and the zupa I was told was also not up to the usual standards.
My little brother said his Mac and cheese noodles were dry, and when I checked, sure enough, they looked like they had sat in a strainer in the open air for an hour, like seriously? Kids are kids, but they don't deserve dry, ugh tasting noodles.
Its crazy olive garden charges for unlimited soup salad and breadsticks and can't honor that, and also the unlimited Alfredo sauce for the breadsticks.
Why even have it on the menu when you can't honor it? I got a little bowl of soup with 2-3 stale, tasteless breadsticks, and was just so done with the whole place. Waited over an hour for that and then had to pay and leave cause nothing was getting done.
I don't know what the owner is doing with staff members who can't operate, and they aren't trying to fix it. This location used to be so amazing that even wall to wall and waiting 3 hours for a table, the QUALITY NEVER CHANGED.
Today? The quality NEVER EXISTED.
So, as a local, I'm afraid I have to say Nay on the diberville olive garden until further notice because for what they are charging, you can go somewhere else and have REAL service.
Overall, not happy, 3/10 score from a local whose been to this place for over a decade and now, in 2024, it is bad. Not...
Read moreSo, I would first like to say that I like Olive Garden, but we are not going back to this location anytime soon (if ever). When we first went in the server, Mike was his name, was rude and when I asked a question he ignored me. Finally I got my meal and there was a French Fry in it! So I asked for a new one. To Mike's credit, he actually brought it up first. I got a new bowl of food and there was another fry in it! I'm starving so I put the fry away and eat my food. When the Bill comes, I tell the man, "I don't have my reading glasses and can't see what the machine has on screen". Instead of getting a booklet like they used to do, he makes us use the machine. After ten minutes of trying to read this thing, it dies. I'm extremely angry! This machine that I couldn't even use in the first place died. I'm looking for our server for five to ten minutes. He is nowhere to be seen. Finally I ask someone else if she can get a booklet. She says that our battery died and will get us a new one. Even though that is not what I asked for, I wait for yet another few minutes. She never comes back. While I would never do this, some people at this point might just leave without paying. I see our guy walk by and flag him down. He ignores us and returns a few minutes later with chocolate mints. He must have thought that we were waiting for that. We explain that we are waiting to pay. He finally takes the check to a paying station and does it that way. Finally we can leave. I really like Olive Garden, now i'm beginning to have second thoughts about going here again. The only reason that I give it a two star instead of a one star is that this is not the first time I have come here, though it might be the last. It seems that the busier that it is, the worst it is. If you go, I suggest lunch and asking for...
Read more5 stars for the waitress, 2 stars for management. The soup was delicious, until we realized there was a ladybug in it. It was comical. Management comped the meal, but the guy that was one of the managers on duty was too cowardly to actually come talk to us. The lady manager explained that it probably came from the lettuce for the salads as she has seen them come out of the lettuce they purchase. So then we all felt like we had ladybug salad as well. 🤣🤣
Update: I will say that Olive garden customer relations reached out to me and did a good job of trying to make things right. The experience wasn't bad to begin with - this location offered fresh, hot food and good customer service. The waitress showed a good sense of urgency. While I do not think management showed that same sense of urgency, overall I'd say this was a good experience and if there had not been a ladybug in the soup and the interaction with management never became necessary, I would have gladly rated this place 5 stars to begin with. That being said -- thing like this happen some times, and I do not at all believe that it's the fault of anyone at the restaurant that a ladybug ended up in the food.
Great job to the waitress and to Olive garden customer relations! My family and I will eat here again. I changed the rating to 4 stars, and the only reason I didn't change it to 5 stars is because I did feel like management here showed no urgency in coming to talk to us. We honestly weren't sure for a good few minutes that anyone was going to come talk to us at all. Beyond that, the interaction should have been a simple and sincere apology, rather than trying to down play the situation by explaining that she has seen ladybugs come out of...
