Took my Ma here for dinner after some antique shopping. Only one table was taken when we walked in so there was no wait to order. I got the 8 inch roast beef and gravy poboy, she got the 8 inch fried shrimp poboy, and I ordered us the debris fries to split and one bottled water. Came out to about $24. The place is kinda cute in a little hole in the wall diner type way. Glass bottled root beer and cans of cream soda feel nostalgic. BUT...it wasn't very clean. All of the booths were covered in food and dirty but one. Before the food came out Ma pointed out our little deceased friend there under the table....yikes...and how it looked like the wall was coming apart. The condiment caddies on every table were covered in greasy finger prints. With so little customers in the dining room you'd think someone would find time to wipe things down.
Now on to the food!! When the poboys hit the table we are eagerly unwrapping them and even though mine has "RB" written on it...it's a second shrimp poboy. So I bring it to the counter and explain and wait an extra 2 minutes for the roast beef. I didn't mind because mistakes happen and I was munching on the debris fries! Speaking of the fries I'd wager they are just frozen but it's the pot roast, gravy, and cheese combo that make them scrumptious. Would have been really nice to have a spoon to get the mixture out because all of the meat sinks to the bottom. Ma absolutely loved her shrimp poboy and said it was overflowing with shrimp. My roast beef was good but not the greatest. The meat wasn't actually HOT, I'm guessing because it was rushed. The bread was lovely though, crisp and crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle.
In conclusion....the service is polite, the food is alright, better than fast food for sure. But you're not getting any extra frills here and maybe not even a clean table. My advice? Use their convenient...
Read moreVery honest review: This was my 1st visit to the Quave Brothers establishment; I was basically just looking for somewhere different, saw this on google, and thought it sounded good. The restaurant was easy to find right off of the main road. It looks small, but it's actually a nice size. The inside has a good amount of seating where you don't feel like your cramped right next to another table. They also have an outside dining area that was kept well. My to go order was quoted 15 mins but took about 25. The only observation (wouldn't call it a complaint) I had was a group of 5 came in behind me & received their orders before me, but I just chalked it up to what I ordered; my sandwich probably took more time to put together. I wasn't in a rush so no worries there. I ordered a side of fries (for the drive home) & they were ok. Not the best not the worst, it's not what I went for so they served the purpose. I ordered a full muffalatta & I'll just say...completely worth it. It was DELICIOUS. It came out to $14.96 w/ the fries included & was on point. It stayed hot on my drive home, and I could tell it was made fresh with quality ingredients. The cherry on top was the customer service. The lady at the counter was so incredibly nice. You can tell that she loves what she does. She was very attentive, proficient, and knew a lot of regulars by name which says a lot about how you care for your business. Overall the price points are right, the food is amazing, the service is amazing, I would 100% recommend, and I will be...
