Rock N Roll Sushi — Restaurant in D'Iberville

Called beforehand to inquire if they had a happy hour deal on certain sushi/appetizers and the gentleman stated he wasn’t sure, placed me on hold to ask someone I’m assuming. When he came back to the phone he stated “we do not have happy hour on sushi, but we have bogo Tuesdays”. I thanked him and hung up. Called back about an hour later to place my coworkers and I orders which consisted of sushi and crab wontons (which happen to be on a LUNCH MENU that’s “special priced”). When we arrived at the restaurant there’s not only a sign outside the door BUT a whole lunch menu that has the items we ordered listed at what I would say was a happy hour or reduced price than the regular price. My verbiage may have been wrong when asking about happy hour, however when i asked why he didn’t mention the lunch menu instead being that it has the items we ordered between 11am-2pm at a lower rate he stated “he doesn’t know much about the lunch menu”. He told me what he said over the phone and wanted to go back and forth. I have been coming to this establishment for a while but took a break when I relocated and I specifically remember that certain items were on a happy hour special or so I thought. Never had an issue when I ordered with the server Meghann(which is phenomenal btw). Jeremy G was the order taker, extremely rude customer service, he was more concerned about me and my coworker asking to separate an order because we had different cards than he was with making sure he informed customers of the specials they carry throughout the day. The establishment was completely empty so I can’t say he was flustered with customers, we were the only customers in the building. Reading other reviews, I definitely see who the culprit is. Food is good but they skimp out on the ginger and Wasabi and the drizzle of sauces that come on the sushi in my opinion. They charge .75 for extra eel sauce. Free soy sauce. I get their fried salmon and tuna rolls on the classic. I've had a few on the headliners but I can't remember the name. Maybe Alabama roll. It was good fried. I'd recommend but I have had sushi where more drizzle is on the roll. Service... it's sad that one person or the first person you talk to could be your impression. I called 6 times to get voicemail. Finally someone answers and immediately omtell me to hold. I held for 5min. So I hung up called back. Voicemail. I tried to place an order while I was 15 min away so it's be ready by time I arrived. So I get in. The person at register was also serving and she was so frazzled. In a pant she asks me what I'd wanted. I started to tell her and she says oh for a to go order one sec and goes to bus a table or something. I look around and no kidding there were 3 tables seated. 2 of which already had food. Im like why is this woman so frazzled. Clearly she's not taking calls. Big turn off for me. But I eventually got my food and it was good. Went for dinner on 12/28/21 with a party of 4. My husband and I ordered two ginger salads. The waitress brought us one salad and said they didn’t have enough lettuce to make two. Our friend ordered soup and the waitress brought it out but told us “we don’t have any spoons that are clean so you’ll just have to make it work”. He had to basically drink it from the bowl. Half of our food order was never put in and therefore not brought out. They were out of seared tuna so a lot of rolls were not available. My sister bit into something extremely hard in her sushi roll and when we told the waitress, she asked to look through my sister’s CHEWED UP FOOD and proceeded to do so. There was more than half of the roll left and they didn’t offer to remove it from the check nor replace it. We asked them to remove it and they did. We left and went to another restaurant to get more food because we were all still hungry, it was very frustrating. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting and so was the area near the trash cans back by the bathroom (food on the floor, trash overflowing).
