Scarlet's Steaks & Seafood — Restaurant in D'Iberville

Our server, Kendell, was fantastic. The food was very good. The environment was horribly lacking. When I make a reservation for a date night at a higher end restaurant, I expect to have a seat in the restaurant. We were literally offered a seat OUTSIDE the restaurant in the bar and lounge area by the host , Danny. The attached picture is the view from my seat. Butler's bar and lounge is NOT where we made reservations. Who wants to enjoy a $200+ meal for 2 in the middle of a noisy bar with slot machines going off constantly. The lounge area is for those who request it, didn't have reservations, or are there to drink. Things seemed to be running slightly behind, and while the servers were hustling, the management chose to hang out in a cluster at the host stand, more concerned with hugging some lady in denim cutoffs running around the bar smacking some cash together for some unknown reason. Our server noticed we were not pleased, asked , apologized, although it wasn't his fault in the slightest, BUT do you think a manager ever came our way? Of course not. Not what I expected, not enjoyable whatsoever. Very loud, very exposed. Personally I feel like we didn't even get to enjoy Scarlet's at all, because we were seated outside the restaurant at Butler's lounge. We eat at comparable restaurants quite often, and I was highly disappointed in the way things were handled. I will freely share this experience with anyone who mentions Scarlet's. And this is a shame, because we only recently discovered the Scarlet Pearl and up until this point, we really enjoyed it, thought about staying there, and now we don't know if we'll be back at all. We've been here a total of 4 times. I've ordered the steak taco salad before and had the steak substituted with chicken and never had an issue and it was delicious. When I ordered this last night I was told the chef said "she would do it tonight for you but there's a price difference between steak and chicken". The salad I was served I am almost convinced came with a piece of overboiled chopped up chicken. There was no seasoning at all and it was completely dried out. We requested ranch dressing and stated the chicken was completely bland and dry but the waiter did not aknowledge our comment. When we got our bill he asked if we wanted a to go box for it and we said no it's not edible so he got the manager. She was immediately defensive stating almost the whole salad was eaten even though she was holding a plate full of food, in front of five people who knew I did not eat more than a few bites aside from a piece of the taco shell I ate while I waited for ranch dressing. She continued with a lecture about letting them know complaints when the food is served not when we get our bill so they can recook it. It was 230 am at this point, I was not waiting another 20 minutes for another salad. She did take the price off the bill. I recently dined at Scarlet steak and seafood and I can't say enough about the incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was perfect, setting the stage for an enjoyable evening.

However, what truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by James, affectionately known as "JJ". His dedication to ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of outstanding was remarkable. JJ's attentive nature, coupled with his infectious smile and positive attitude, elevated our dinner to a whole new level.
