Food was okay for the price point, if not a little bland- nothing to write home about, though. To have the word produce in your name, you would think some vegetables or fruits may be available for purchase- if you thought that though, you would be very incorrect. I saw maybe 3 dusty watermelons and a couple old bags of onions. Inside the store they had those "gourmet" canned goods you find at every kitschy boutique, but these had about 10 years of dust on them. On that subject- the entire store, both inside and out, was absolutely filthy.
My bigger concern was the service I received and the vibe they gave off. To paint a picture, before you even walk in the place they let you know they're bigots. Next to the door is a sign proudly proclaiming to be "politically incorrect", and telling people to leave if they get offended by hearing someone say phrases like "Merry Christmas"- what a silly thing to hang a sign up for. I'm vaccinated, but still wear a mask as a courtesy to those that haven't had the opportunity yet. The second I walked in, masked up, the kitchen staff gave me a hateful look and made a comment to the cashier. I brushed it off, hoping that maybe I had made an incorrect assumption. After about 15 minutes of waiting, and watching other customers that arrived after me get their food, it was clear that they might have had a problem with me. It wasn't until after I approached the counter and asked about the status of my order before they would even acknowledge my existence or the time I had waited for my small order.
I'm a straight, white male and even I felt out of place here. These folks are not "Christian", they're just using their faith as a justification to be hateful. I'm atheist and even I know Jesus taught words of compassion and love for your fellow man regardless of their religion, race, personal creed, sexual orientation, or whatever. I can't say I'll be visiting this establishment again, nor would I recommend...
Read moreOne of my favorite places to breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are a very clean place to eat. They take a lot of pride in ever thing they do there Ribs are mouth watering good but so is everything they cook there they have breakfast biscuits, sandwiches and killer breakfast plates. They have really good boiled peanuts. They also have fresh fruits and vegetables when there in season because they sell locally grown produce. There garden fresh tomatoes are like you remember them for those people like me that have been ripening on the vine for a while. Like a really good tomatoe we stay on they vine until it's the right time to be picked.LOL We no what good tomatoes really tasty like. There prices are good. They do have a lot of can jams, sauerkraut, peppers, spicy sauces, regular sauces additives to your soups, your spaghettis, sauces, two hamburgers for steaks. Some people think that goes are kind of pricey but you have to remember your stuff is locally grown and packed fresh time was taken to do it comes taking to pick out the ingredients to make an awesome canned or jarred product. I have got a spicy spaghetti sauce a lot of people would see it as oh one jar big jar to make one meal out of. I would use it as a seasoning to add to my regular spaghetti that I've always made to add more flavoring to my regular recipe and then close the jar couldn't frigerator for the next time so it's not just one meal these things are made to enhance more than one meal. I have rambled on long enough you get the idea you got to stop in check the place out great people love it love it love it 5...
Read moreWe lived in Dahlonega for two and half years. I would give this place 10 Stars if I could. My wife use to stop here every morning for breakfast on her way to work. Super friendly “Mom-n-pop” staff, husband and wife team.
I am originally from North Carolina. I have eaten a lot of BBQ in my day. The BBQ at the farmhouse is the only BBQ that I have ever said is comparable to Lexington, NC BBQ and that is the highest compliment I can give the farm house. Their BBQ is phenomenal and the portion sizes are GIANT SIZE, HUGE! And it was worth it because the BBQ is so good.
They have a nice selection of fruits and vegetables and ciders too.
Again, just a great husband and wife team and glad to see this little local business doing well. Their reputation for quality BBQ speaks for itself. We’ll worth the 5-10 minutes drive outside of town to get their BBQ. If their location was on the square they would shut other BBQ joints down, that’s how good the BBQ is at the Farmhouse.Highly recommend the Farmhouse.
We also bought our Christmas tree here two...
