I was doing an audit of the Chevron station next door and parked in front of the Gold City Diner because when I was done my wife and I were going to eat here since it looked clean and my wife looked online and the prices were reasonable. While I was taking pictures of the station needed for the audit the owner kept coming out, delivering to go orders to cars my wife said. At one point he stopped at our car and looked at all four sides she said then went back inside. I came back to the car to sit while I completed the checklist on the audit website and fill out the paper document I have to leave with gas station personnel.
It was at that time my wife told me what the owner did and said it creeped her out. As I sat there I watched him come out three times with orders and every time I noticed he looked intently at our car both coming out and going back in. While inside he kept staring at us through the window while talking to someone, I believe a female. It creeped me out and he didn't even come close to our car those times.
After I was done with the audit I backed out to leave but I wanted to know what he was doing and why.
I parked at a gas pump and walked back to the restaurant. I went in to simply ask why he was checking out our car and watching us so intensely. As I came in the owner, well over six feet tall, rushed over and tried to intimidate me by puffing up and standing over me before I even got a word out. I asked why he checked out all four sides of our car. He angrily said, "You parked in front of my business and took pictures of my store." The thing is I didn't take any pictures of the restaurant. Zip. Zero. The only pictures I took were pictures of the gas station, required pictures plus infractions they had. Chevron-authorized pictures with the full knowledge of the gas station employees. Sure, his restaurant may have been in the background of a few of them but it's literally part of the same building as the convenience store and in the line of sight of one of the diesel pumps and a damaged trash can I had to get pictures of.
Anyway, taken aback by his attitude and attempt at intimidation I told the owner, "Yeah I parked there because when I was done doing the audit I was doing of the Chevron station we were going to come in and eat. But you creeped out my wife doing that so she doesn't want to now." I don't know if he didn't believe me or what because he kept standing over me and, still angry, pointed to the door and loudly said, "Then leave." I said, "Why are you so mad about this?" He pointed to the door and said, "I'm a former cop and if you don't leave I'll get people who can make sure you leave." I again said, "Why are you so mad? You're the one who creeped my wife out." He raised his voice even more and said, "Leave. Get. Out."
This guy is apparently so paranoid about people that he was willing to turn away (eventually, when I was done working) paying customers. I guess if you park in front of his business and don't immediately come in the door, you're automatically up to no good. All he had to do was either come up to me walking around the lot and ask what was going on or come up to our car and ask my wife to roll down her window and ask what was going on. We would have been glad to tell him I was working at the Chevron station and then we were going to break for lunch. But no, he got paranoid instead and blew everything out of proportion, including threatening to call the police to have me physically removed from...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI know this just opened recently but our experience on a whole was bad Both orders were wrong, food was warm not served hot. Both orders had no taste at all ( tomatoes left in refrigerator too long) romaine was core part only and bacon was old and burnt. Also asked for lemon for our water and was handed a package of lemon juice. I believe it would be cheaper to slice a few fresh lemons as needed than to buy packaged lemon concentrate. All in all a very...
