The Grille at Iron Mountain Resort — Restaurant in Dahlonega

We went to The Grill tonight because it is close to home. The waitress was at least one of the worst I have ever experienced, and I am 60 years old, so I have dined out many times in my life! We sat and waited 20 minutes before being asked if wanted to drink or eat something. While waiting for her to notice us, we saw two other customers have to come inside the restaurant to ask for something to drink and eat, because no waitress would go to the outside dining area to service them. After she finally took our food order she waited for 30 mintues before receiving it. We could easily see the kitchen from our seats, and she stood there with her back to all customers while food was being cooked by the cook staff. We needed a drink while she was standing in the kitchen talking to coworkers and ignoring customers, so I actually wen to the kitchen and held up my glass, indicating that I was ready for a drjnk. Another customer got tired of waiting on his food, and finally went to the kitchen as well, and told her he wanted his food to go, because he had waited so long. She then packed up his food, however she then turned her back to the customers again, watching the cooks. and ignoring my request from five minutes prior to have something to drink. By now my husband had left the restaurant and was waiting in the car for me. i then went to the kitchen AGAIN and reminder her that I had asked for a drink 10 minutes prior. She then brought my drink and since my husband was waiting in the car by then, told her I needed my food to go at that point. Guess what, the food was terrible. How you can mess up nachos and a salad I don't know, but they did. Despite how close we live to this restaurant, we will NEVER go back. I partly blame management for allowing their staff to be as slack, uncaring, unprofessional and lazy as they are. This restaurant is a joke! There is obviously a problem with the owner keeping it staffed. The food started out amazing and same goes for the waitresses. They’ve been open for less than a year and every time I go there it’s worse than before. The food is down right awful now. They can’t keep their waitresses. The ones that were there from the beginning are all gone now. The ones that are there now are young kids who truly don’t care about how they treat the customer or how the food looks that they’re bringing out of the kitchen. The burgers are served burnt. The chicken wings not fully cooked. They were actually still bloody. And the chicken tenders were still cold. The lady Shannon has absolutely zero personality. I named off 3 different drinks to order all of which she said she didn’t know how to make; one of the drinks being a screwdriver. She’s just downright rude, it’s almost like she gets paid extra to be rude. This was my last time going there thinking something would change for the better. I’m here to tell you if your staff doesn’t know how to make drinks then they have no business being behind a bar. Save yourself sometime and disappointment and eat & drink...

This was our first time trying the new restaurant out. We came in and sat down thinking a waiter would see us to bring us menus. We waited 15 minutes before even receiving a menu, for the lady to tell us she would be back to take our order and she never showed back up. The other waiter seen us sitting there and you could tell he was doing all the work for the whole restaurant, but he took the time to take our order and get us some drinks. There was roughly 5 families sitting when we came in, it took us over an hour to receive food and we were highly disappointed with the food you received for the price they charge you. The gentleman working definitely deserves a raise considering he was working the place all by himself. He was apologetic and trying the best he could do, the two hours we were there. The restrooms in the restaurant were extremely nasty and everything was broken.
