Let me start by saying we have been trying to dine at Carmen's but they close at 2pm on Saturday & Sunday and we finally looked their hours up as we thought they were closed on the weekends! Carmen's is easily the best restaurant we have found close to our house in South Irving. Our server Martzia was outstanding and attentive without hovering. They bring out house made chips and delicious salsa after seating you. I like it that there is a guy that just does that job. We went for lunch and they brought us the breakfast menu but they have a lunch menu also that I ordered from. My husband got the special which was Chicken Mole Enchiladas served with rice and beans. I customized a Quesadilla with Shrimp, Chorizo and extra cheese. I wanted sautéed Spinach in it along with grilled jalapenos but somehow the cook missed the Spinach part. Oh well. It was served with some of the best guacamole I've had anywhere other than mine at home and pico de gallo. Excellent. It came in two pieces and I took one home for lunch the next day. They do not have a liquor license that I noticed. Husband (who is from Mexico) said the Menudo was wonderful and authentic. I'll have to take his word on that. We will be adding Carmen's to our...

After much talk about this place on my social media, I stopped in for brunch. I will start out with the fact that I don't normally like breakfast foods.

The establishment is found in West Dallas and may be considered a hole in the wall place. Place was busy but we were greeted and sat quickly. The establishment was clean but the restroom for ladies could use some attention. Chips and salsa upon sitting and drink orders taken. The only thing on the menu are breakfast items. I don't know if they have a separate menu for lunch. We ordered the green chilaquiles plate, and three #2's which consisted of eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast with a side of ham. Food was decent but not hot. (I'm the type of person who likes warm-hot food). I'd be interested in going back to try something different. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was good.

  • I will say that the food is delicious and authentic on flavor, but my momma always serves...

I had a family get together yesterday and it was about 15+ of my family members that showed up. I called 20 min in advance and spoke to a gentleman and asked if they could seat a party this big. Mind you we are from out of town and wanted to go eat breakfast and Carmen's came out with amazing reviews so we figured we'd give it a try. Overall the experience was phenomenal and they handled our get together absolutely amazing. Very consistent and polite, we pretty much had a waiter constantly refilling our coffee and drinks without having to ask. The food was delightful as well and for a party that big, was served to us surprisingly fast. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and will be sure to visit again in the near future. I didn't get the gentleman's name who set our table up and everything but thank you for handling our mini event with spectacular customer service, you guys...

The food at Carmen's is full of flavor and has the homemade staple. It satisfies my cravings for typical Mexican breakfast dishes, but it also offers American favorites such as French toast, pancakes and its' normal pairings. This place is always packed but their team moves fast and is SUPER friendly! I started out trying their breakfast tacos, and moved on to trying their huevos rancheros, chilaquiles, carne asada plate, menudo and it's all been delicious. I'm looking forward to trying their machacado con huevo. Their horchata is fresh and tastes great too. We highly recommend it!

Hands down the best menudo I've had in the Dallas area, I was told they were the best in the west, and let me tall ya! They weren't lying!!! I forgot to take a before picture because it looked so good and I was so hungry but I took an after 😅 if I wasn't so full I would of guzzled down every single bit down to the last drop!! It was very delicious!!! Good service as well, with an atmosphere worth the experience.. my girl had breakfast chorizo tacos, I took a bite to try, did not disappoint, also very good as well.. definitely look forward to going back again!
