Oh my gosh. Back in the day I would go get a basket of catfish and fries at 1 am in morning after getting off work OR when I was done clubbing in South Dallas.

I was shocked to see some of the property apparently was sold and building downsized BUT the fish is still better than any other catfish place. My nephew Chris treated me to 2 piece with fries/bread and pepper ($8.75).

I think I'll tell both sons about Catfish Smith and we'll just load up on catfish fillet; I never liked nuggets. Unfortunately I requested chess pie BUT SOMEBODY DIDN'T COOK RIGHT; THE RECIPE WAS OFF AND WASN'T WORTH THE $ SPENT.

If I wasn't so busy, I'd fix them a REAL CHESS PIE and, REAL POTATO SALAD that would them slap their mama! People still ask about my potato salad that I used to bring to office parties at City of Dallas in 1983-1985 and my collards/mustards.

Visit Catfish Smith, get at least the 2pc. catfish fillet. You'll be disappointed if you try to skim on your pocketbook for a 1 pc. Once your lips have tasted the savory seasoned fillet, you'll RUN NOT WALK back to get a 2 pc. And that's the truth....at...

I have patronized, this establishment since the early 2000's.There is a young lady that has been working there the last several times I have placed an order. Her disposition is horrible, and it seems to be rubbing off on the younger man. He made sure to advise me, he couldn't tell me how long it would take for the order to be done. He was not the cook, and he was new. I asked him if he could ask, how long it would be for the order to be ready, as I called it in a mere 30 minutes to allow the food to be ready, when we arrived. We sat outside the establishment for about 30 additional minutes. This place use to have the best fish, and tartar sauce. The tartar sauce use to be great, tonight it tasted like sandwich spread. It WAS the whole kit and caboodle. Tonight I spent $90.+ dollars for a 20 piece fillet, with extra tartar sauce. This is now a place, I will probably never frequent again. Customer service will continue to take your business far, without that one ingredient you will fail. I wish your business success, please start with the help!!...

Today was my 2nd visit to Catfish Smith's. The first visit was one late night. Today at approx 5 pm I visited, excited that I remembered where the place was, I had my uber wait while I ordered my food. Do you know the cashier/cook took money from the customer in front of me bare hand then proceeded to grab my fish BARE HAND, flour it and prepare to drop it in the fryer?! I could not believe it. I expressed my disbelief and the blonde haired lady with finger waves running the register and cooking offered to wash her hands and prepare me some more fish. Heckkkkkk no I dont want anything else from this place. That is unsanitary and Im lead to contact the health department. I truly cant believe that was done before my eyes as second nature. It was obvious this is a reg practice for blondie. This truly sucks because the food is good. But no ma'am and no sir, def not safe. To the owners, I expect that your practices will change very soon.
