Effin Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Dalton Township

Food was typical bar food. Burger was greasy and undercooked to my liking. The menu insinuates that fries or tots come with your meal, and the waitress even asked us "fries or tots" when we ordered, but they are actually a $3.25 upcharge. Chips are not listed as the option that is included with burgers. I ordered onion rings and THEN our waitress said "that will be an upcharge" I opted to up-charge myself and replace the potato options with onion rings and that was a $6 upcharge! Basically the cost of a full appetizer. Which leads me to - The appetizers were very small and not at all worth $7. Waitress was very nice but we felt completely deceived by their menu, the way she presented options, and how she explicitly mentioned that the onion rings were an upcharge. They were not ashamed to trick you into spending money. What should have been a ~$45-$50 lunch turned into $63. We ordered 2 apps, 2 burgers (+fries & +onion rings) and 2 beers. OH and they charge you to use your credit card, so bring cash.

Outdoor atmosphere was the coolest thing about that bar. Would only consider returning for drinks and outdoor hangouts. Will not eat there again, plus we felt super tricked with the $10.25 of extra charges. Two weeks ago, I went to the Effin Bar with my husband. Everything was on point. Deb, our bartender, did everything right. She was friendly. We each ordered a Bloody Mary. She asked what kind of vodka we wanted. The rims were salted. They were delicious. The mistake we made was going back the next week. The service was Terr-yble. The drinks were horrible, not mixed at all. We didn't even get a garnish; I'm guessing because the container was empty and he did not want to refill it. We were definitely an inconvenience to him. I know this is the most upscale and large restaurant in the area... and I'm sure it's fun in the evening / night party but we were there around 4.30 to grab a quick meal on the way out of town and this was my experience: two drunk guys on the patio, smoking, loud food was terrible. I had the olive burger, kids had tenders & tots, others had perch and ceasar salad. Only the salad was good. service was sub par... and there were only three total parties outside. Waitress acted annoyed. And also didn't know how to make an Arnold Palmer and snuffed at me when I asked for my tea to have half lemonade 🙃.
