Disappointing Experience at Sagebrush Bar in Dalton, NE

I typically don’t leave reviews, but our recent visits to the Sagebrush Bar have raised serious concerns. Last Wednesday, we witnessed what appeared to be illegal gambling taking place inside the bar. Today, we returned with a group of six, all of us ordering food and drinks, only to be met with blaring music so loud we could hardly carry on a conversation.

When we politely asked for the volume to be turned down, the bartender—who also appeared to be the owner—responded with unnecessary attitude. Despite our group clearly contributing more business than the only two other patrons sitting at the bar, our request was dismissed.

To make matters worse, one of those two individuals had a large dog inside the establishment. This dog was not a service animal and wandered freely through the bar, even coming to our table while we were eating. That’s not only a health code issue, but a blatant disregard for customer comfort and basic sanitation.

Between the apparent illegal activity, the loud and hostile environment, and the disregard for public health standards, this establishment seems to operate without any accountability. I truly hope the proper authorities take a closer look—because something...

If you’re looking for a place where time stands still—and not in a nostalgic, charming way—Sagebrush Bar is your spot. Walked in, and it smelled like regret and spilled Coors from 2007. The music? Imagine a jukebox possessed by a drunk raccoon, so loud couldn’t hear the friends we came with. We politely asked her if she could lower the volume which is when the attitude got worse. The bartender/owner looked like they’d lost a bet and were being forced to serve drinks ect as punishment from the get go. That didn’t stop her, she had plenty of energy to talk crap about us to the drunken fools sitting at the bar. Five stars for trauma. Zero stars for everything else.
