Came here on a whim, hoping to find a decent dine in option with COVID19 restrictions. They were at 50% capacity, but, the place was still pretty hoppin. I bet it would be insane on a weekend night, full bore, and probably much more entertaining. Still, there was live music and two out of four bars were open for service. We were told it would be an hour wait, to be seated, but were offered a spot to sit and drink while waiting out back until time. We chose to do that and was called in, much faster then an hour. Outdoor area that was blocked off had firepits, and outdoor bars, that looked like they would be incredible under full operation. Opted for Ribs, and Perch (four plates) and we had a combination of about 7 drinks and the meal cost $116. Ribs, steak, seemed fairly in range with the norm but some of the other thing's on menu probably a bit high. Regardless, food was all pretty great and worth what we paid. Service was just OK. I liked our waitress but she didn't come around overly often, and the hostess at the door (older brown haired woman) gave off a terrible vibe, seemed pretty fake, and irritable, overall, despite my in-laws being overly friendly. Not surprised, other reviews have seemed to pinpoint her, also. Overall its a great atmosphere and something I would love to see during full operation. Establishment is incredibly chill, clean, and food is great. Entertainment level is high. I do however, worry about the service, if frustrations seem to come at only 50% capacity.

Took my boyfriend here for Father’s Day dinner. Extremely disappointed. We stood waiting for someone to acknowledge us and I counted 6 different servers walk by and not say so much as “Hi, someone will be right with you” Had a long wait before drinks were ordered let alone came. I usually judge an establishment right away based on their drinks, I knew I was in for a disappointment. He ordered the shank that came out in a bowl gray and covered in gravy as thin as water. I had the crab cakes with a baked potato and coleslaw. All very disappointing. My potato tasted old and like it was on the way to being rotten. I think the problem here is we were expecting a lot better than what we served. My honest opinion is that if we would have went for a burger and fries it would have been phenomenal. Keep your order simple and basic and I don’t think you’d be disappointed. Crow’s nest needs to trim down the menu and focus on a few signature dishes. They had a seasoning on the table called “Dad’s Wings” that made everything a lot better so thankful they had it.

I’ve been here a few times and have not really had an issue. We were here for Father’s Day 2023 and they do have an area to wait for your table which is nice. With rocking chairs . It took about 45 minutes to get seated. No problem, we were expecting a longer wait given the day. We started our meal with this “New salmon dip” Sounded interesting when we looked at it on the menu. When it arrived at our table and we all took a bite it actually tasted like cat food. It was probably the absolute worst food I’ve ever received. The waitress explained it was apart of an updated menu. And happy returned it for some spinach and artichoke dip which was fantastic. After this the meal was great. All of us ordered something different and I tasted all the dishes and they’re all delicious. The favorite was the perch dinner I had. Absolutely amazing. All and all they really need to take that salmon dip off the menu it was vile.

It is unfortunate to leave a review that is not good. My wife and I went to have dinner here we like to support local business. I regret my decision to take her here. We were greeted with a hostess that did not have time for us and said go to the bar if you want to sit down and eat. Once we arrived at the bar it was flag down someone to help us. Once someone paid attention we order a water and beer. Next it was are you going to order? So we ask for menus...waited again. The 3 tables around us (right in the bar area) were empty so we asked if we could sit there to which we were told those are not for bar people you have to ask the hostess. Finally order the Walleye (Lake Erie should great) Mac and cheese and side salad the wife ordered a Mediterranean salad. We waited more (45mins), tables still empty, guy beside us got his meal, ordered after us and he was already served which no big deal he is one meal. Rachel finally came back and he brought to her attention that he was missing a side salad to which the answer was "look we are busy". He never got his salad either. Finally food has arrived hour after we arrived, now 1 of the 3 tables has been seated. The Mediterranean salad was okay but for nearly $10 was not the greatest. On to the Walleye, two smallish pieces it was hot I will give them that, bland not a lot of flavor, so lets try the "premium side" Mac and cheese, it was not cold but it was not warm either. I went to try the side salad...that is right never got it. And was afraid to ask after the gentleman next to us was scolded for asking Rachel. $43 for a missing salad, no refill on a water, 2 beers, cool Mac and cheese, hot fish and a ok Mediterranean salad. I had high hopes but this is...

Made the 2 1/2 hr drive to spend the weekend for my birthday near the lake. I've been to the Crow's Nest several times before, after doing some fishing and we've always had a good meal. But as we know with covid, places have been short of help. And I have seen, as I try to be understanding that prices have gone up considerably and portions and quality have gone down at many places I frequent. My wife got a cup of lobster bisque soup (not a bowl) it was $15 and wasn't filled. Walleye fish bites were underwhelming. But I'm picky about how I clean and cook my fish. My go to there is the bone-in ribeye has always been great. Except for this night, it was 50% pure fat, and I know ribeyes are more fatty cut. So with the bone and fat there wasn't much meat, for the price of an 18 oz. So not this much fat. My problem was that they even put it on my plate. But they did make good and prepared a nother one. Which that one was fine. And kudos to waiter and the bartender for the great drinks. So just saying, I get the price increases, but portions getting smaller and quality going down NO !! Will be going back again soon to upgrade my rating...
