I would rate this place 5 stars, because while typical menu selections for a Mexican restaurant, my steak fajita was good, but their prices were high given they offer the same options as every other Mexican restaurant I've visited, portion sizes are about the same, but they are well over priced for the food. Service was lacking the night we came and it's disappointing because the time of day we were there, they weren't overly busy. We were the only ones in the indoor dining area for the first 30 or so minutes that we were there. Our server couldn't answer our questions about menu items very well (he didn't know the answers) and once our food and drinks came that was the last we saw of him. No one came back to see if we needed anything else, if our food was okay, or if we were ready for our check. We had to ask someone else for more chips for our salsa and queso and my husband had to flag someone else down to get to-go boxes and our check for us to leave. The restrooms were clean-ish... I've seen worse, while not sparkling clean they were well stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. Hand Soap was a little low, but enough to wash your hands. A quick tidy-up between lunch and dinner rush would have made a world of difference. I'm sure if we are out that way again and craving Mexican we would eat here again, but we probably wouldn't make a special...
Read moreI took my family here and wow, it was not an enjoyable experience. We were seated in an awkward, corner booth with a TV above our heads that was constantly in and out of service. The salsa was runny and tasted like it came straight out of a can. It was so soupy we could barely get any on our chips. It was just bland and flavorless. Canned or jarred is honestly better. I would take a store brand over this place’s salsa any day. I ordered the lunch special of a tamale, enchilada, and a burrito. They all came smothered in what tasted like Chef Boyardee sauce. It was just so gross. My husband ordered a specialty burrito (I’m sorry I can’t remember the exact one) that was lathered in the same sauce. The only thing that made his burrito somewhat edible when he shared a bite with me was the lettuce and tomatoes on top. They masked the Chef Boyardee flavor to the best of their capabilities. One of my son’s had chicken strips and fries and the fries looked and tasted like they were about a year old and freezer burnt. The only thing edible was my other son’s chicken quesadilla, but really, how can you mess up a quesadilla? I’m surprised this establishment didn’t muck it up somehow. I would...
Read moreWe have touted this as being our favorite place for Mexican food for years. We drive from Greencastle to Danville just to eat here regularly. However, the last 2 visits have been bad. It seems their standards are slipping. For some reason (cost saving?) they decided to only put about one teaspoon worth of queso on the nachos supreme now and reduced the overall portion by about 50%. My daughter ordered the steak ranchero, and it came raw (raw, not rare). Literally kissed in the pan on each side, when she ordered it med-well. The waiter never came over to check on us, when I finally waved him down and told him about the steak, his response was to hand me a business card for a different restaurant in Avon..!? She ate one bite of the $15 steak, they never offered to take it off the bill. Fool me once.. I think I'm done (at least for a while). Gave it 2 stars for Food and Service because in the past we have always...
