Greersburg Tavern — Restaurant in Darlington Township

We went to Greersburg Tavern, also known as Rick's on the 21st of May after a very long day at an auction on the recommendation of an acquaintance. We were really only expecting typical tavern fare, but it wasn't typical. They weren't busy when we entered but they soon got that way. They promptly seated us, gave us menus and took our drink orders. The table top was clean and not at all greasy feeling. As I said they got busy fast but had plenty of wait staff to cover themselves. The staff were friendly,fast efficient and totally under control. My wife, son and I all ordered different types of burger meals. I got a Classic with lettuce tomato Mayo and pepper jack cheese on the brioche bun. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. Big,fresh bun and the absolutely best Pepper Jack cheese ever. The onion rings were cooked perfectly in clean oil. My wife and son also got burgers of different types and both felt the same as I did about the quality of their meals and the quantity. We will definitely be going back on a regular basis as this establishment has for sure earned our business. Cute, quaint, and classic! This place just makes you feel good! It is warm and inviting. I remember this place from my childhood...when it was Rick's Place. I loved going there in the winter. As soon as you go in, there is a kerosene heater hanging on the wall. It is still there! I always stop to warm, and now my kids do too! It's kind of nostalgic. There are beautiful exposed beams throughout which create a rustic feel. The food is amazing! Not a bad dish yet. Hand cut fries and tons of homemade options are available. Daily specials....including a wing night and seafood on Fridays! Happy hour daily from 4-6 with half priced appetizers (loaded fries with Cajun ranch are the best)! Service is impeccable! Ordered a steak salad, medium rare it was well done. The eggs were green. The owner said we’re all I do is boil the eggs. I said but they shouldn’t be Green right?? no answer. I told her that I ordered my Steak medium rare but it was well done. She said I’ll tell the cook next time. The bartender was very nice. The owner needs better people skills. What owner would not offer to recook your meal with green eggs and overcooked steak by the way I couldn’t chew the steak, fries were stone cold and not sure how you have dried up black olives..
