Let me start by saying we've had good experiences here in the past. We've only gone a few times and enjoyed the food and the bartender. We haven't been in awhile and decided to go again Saturday night. Service was horrible, it was a different young woman and she was not experienced. Took almost 10 minutes to get a tea and a bottled beer, besides 6 people at the bar top, we were the only guests. Took 15 minutes for cheese balls, all total between sitting down and getting food to the table was approx 45 minutes. The food arrived under cooked chicken tenders, steak with no seasoning or flavor, both sides of mashed potatoes and gravy were cold, not just room temp but cold like they were in a fridge. She never came to check on us so we had to go to the bar to get help, she took over 20 minutes just to tell us that she wasn't able to get us fresh sides or different sides but would take them off the bill. Apparently sides are only $2.50. We had to get our own silverware and even when I tried to pay I had to stand at the bar for over 5 minutes while she kept rolling her eyes to the regulars. I worked in restaurants for several years and we travel and review places all over the country. This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had at any restaurant. It didn't end there, I'm assuming they used dirty utensils or ones with cleaner on them when preparing our food, it is now Monday evening, almost exactly 48hrs later and neither of us can keep anything down. No matter the time, there should be a certain level of service and you should never be made to feel like a problem by the server, if something is closed down or not available, just tell the customer, it happens, look at mcd ice cream machine. Between the service and either lack of training or caring from the kitchen staff, we spent $55 to leave hungry and unable to keep future food down. In a time that small businesses are struggle to stay open, you...
Read moreCan I give them less than 1 star ? While the waitress was super nice and running around the place like a banchie since she was the only waitress working on Sunday. She had a good attitude and very accomodating. Beer was cold and atmosphere was great ! Now for the food. Fried mushrooms were average as they were the kind you buy a Sam"s Club. Chicken liver were disquisting they burnt and chewy. At first I thought they had served me gizzards. Lucky me the portion size was small so there was not much to waiste. Next my brain sandwich. I am a true lover of brain sandwiches and eat them any chance I can so I was really looking forward to another opportunity. Oh my god gross is what I thought when I bit into the brain served at the Darmstadt Inn. It tastes like old burnt grease. I didn't eat that either nor did I even bring it home to my dogs. In closing our breaded tenderloin sandwich was good and the German fries but that was all. Darmstadt Inn is not worth a trip back there even though it is only 2 miles from my home....
Read moreWe ate there this evening as a family. We had never been there so we thought we would try it. The place is disgusting, literally filthy. There is food wedged between the chair cushions and the seat bases. The napkin dispensers have months worth of grime on them. The light fixtures have dead bugs visible. The taxidermy doesnt look like its been dusted in years. The service was decent at best. A waitress came and grabbed our kids applesauce, thankfully before they ate any, because it was spoiled. We had ribeye sandwiches, they were so greasy the bread was soaked through and no one bothered to cut the gristle off the meat before slapping it down on the bread. Our onion rings tasted like the grease hadn't been changed in forever. I dont normally write reviews but the Darmstadt Inn has...
