I’m only giving the 2 stars because the food has always been very good my entire life and you can’t ask for a better view from the deck. The experience I had today was laughable. Our waiter was rude and we waited an hour to get our food while people that came in after us were promptly served drinks and food well before us. My friend ordered a soda when he got there and not only did he not get it, but when we finally were able to order our food (after at least 35 minutes sitting there), my friend mentioned not getting the soda very nicely and the waiter shrugged his shoulders and was like, “Oh, okay.” Like not apologetic in the slightest. And even with the awful service and long wait, the waiter never one time even offered an obligatory, “sorry for the wait, guys,” or anything that ANY OTHER SERVER would absolutely say even if they didn’t care. This dude genuinely was the most apathetic server I’ve ever experienced which made the long wait so much worse. We obviously know the restaurant is short staffed. It’s not anyone’s fault. But you at least SAY you’re sorry for your customer’s inconvenience. This dude seemed to enjoy our hunger. My friends also had two small children with them (one was a toddler) and never came over to ask how they were doing and if they needed anything. We stopped getting drink refills about halfway through the experience. Then 45 minutes after ordering our food, I just asked the guy when did he think our food would be out and he ignored me and then when I asked again he acted like I was a jerk for asking. He said, “we weren’t prepared to have this many customers,” with a sarcastic smile on his face. They weren’t prepared to have a full deck of customers by the creek on a beautiful 90 degree day. Yeah.... okay. Then to add a lovely cherry on top of this nightmare lunch, my friend and I both ordered the crab cake sandwich and have been very sick all afternoon. Our husbands and the kids are fine, their food seemed to be done correctly. We however, are in pretty bad shape and I honestly can’t say I’ll ever go to this place again. It’s a shame because I used to love it and specifically requested we go there today to celebrate me getting into my top choice nursing program. I’ll tell anyone who will listen about today and I hope no one has this experience again. I always give places the benefit of the doubt, but this was just ridiculous. Please, owners/managers/whoever: change whatever you need to do that I can enjoy your restaurant again. This is bonkers. Last time we tried to go, we weren’t allowed to sit down because we didn’t have masks to wear from the steps of the deck to another part of the deck. Outside. About a ten foot walk. Get it together,...
Read moreGreat atmosphere and a menu that caters to all pallets. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Haven't had an occasion to complain yet. We dine out at least once a week and in my opinion, it's the best dining experience in the area. Update: went for valentine's day and had the absolute worst waitress. Had a nasty attitude. I inquired about draft beer choices and got the feeling I had asked her to play in traffic. Then I ordered a tuna tar tar and she brought me smoked salmon on bread. When I informed her of the issue, she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I told them (the kitchen) tuna" and walked away. She didn't offer to fix anything, she just walked away. Then she brought the bread loaf and it was ice cold. REFRIGERATOR COLD. When informed of this, she said "well I put it in the oven"! I then said "well not near long enough". She said..."oh well" and walked to her little corner and hid for the next ten minutes. Another server actually brought our entrees. Didn't see her again until she brought the cheque. Didn't ask if we wanted desert. Just dropped the cheque and ran to her little hide away. I got up and walked over to her to advise her that I wanted an adjustment for the salmon as it was a cheaper appetizer. She ignored my presance until the bus girl said your table wants you. Didn't make eye contact and just nodded. I went back to the table and she came over, sighed, and took the cheque to be adjusted. A bad server can trump all other aspects of any restaurant and make for a bad experience hands down. If she's there the next time, I'll walk right back out the door. Try to get the guy with the ponytail...We had him occasionally and he is an...
Read moreI'm surprised at all the raves in here. We went for dinner, tonight as a matter of fact, and ended up paying for our drinks and politely leaving. We sat at the bar and waited for a high top table, when one came available we naturally went over to it. The waitress snapped at my husband and said "could you at least wait till I clean it off".. he apologized and we hung back a bit. But it didn't end there, we looked over the menu and knew we wanted to try a couple of Greek items. When the waitress came back I asked her about the Greek cheese, how sharp was it.. and she looked at me like I was an idiot and responded.. "I don't know what you mean, it says sharp". I proceeded to explain there were different kinds of sharp, cheddar cheese sharp or like a swill cheese (I could feel myself getting angry with her tone!). Did I have to spell out "educate us on what is Greek cheese??"... the icing on the cake was when we ordered our appetizers, we expected her to put the order in as we looked over the menu for our dinner choices, she was still standing there and my husband said..."oh, did you want us to give you our dinner order?" She looked at him and said "Well, yeah..in this really smart tone" and made this stupid face. I couldn't believe it. We put our order in, when she left... my husband went to the bar, paid for our drinks. He stopped the waitress as she was headed to another table and said "You can cancel our dinners". She looked at us like "what was wrong?" I told her "You are extremely rude" and she asked me "do you want another waitress?"... we left. I'm still angry and hope to contact the owners. No one ever deserves to be...
