I am a truck driver so I have limited places to eat at . I stay at this Flying J quite often and when I do I like to eat at this Dennys because I like their food. However, I went in to just get a sandwich to go today and right before I walked in a huge crowd of people walked up so I knew it was going to take a while to seat all of these folks so I walked on in and as I was asking the waitress for a menu, which she didn't mind handing to me, the 'hostess' told me I needed to wait at the door. I did not acknowledge her I just took the menu and went out into the waiting room to look at it and to give her time to seat all of those people. After they were seated I walked up to the counter/register with menu in hand and she totally ignored me and seated 2 more parties that came in after I did. I waited. She came back up to the register shaking her head and rolling her eyes giving me the impression that having to seat these people was an imposition even though it is her job. So I started to tell her I just wanted to place a to go order and she interrupted me with "wait a minute" so I stood there for a few more minutes until I decided that I was going to be more of an imposition than she could handle. So I put the menu on the counter and told her never mind, I would come back later. She responded with "if you could just wait a minute I'll take your order" I just said no don't worry about it and left. I truly believe that if you do not enjoy what you do for a living, you should find something else because you will never be successful in a position you hate doing and it was evident that she hates her job. It's a shame because like I said this Dennys has really good food, good wait staff but a...
Read moreThere's good and not so good here. I'll try to give credit where its due.
For the 2nd time today, i tried to eat a steak and eggs meal. The first was at an Iron Skillet... (That was a disaster.) For the 2nd time today, i was disappointed.
My order was a T-bone and eggs meal to go. I asked for my steak rare and unseasoned, eggs over medium, hashbrowns, and white toast. I asked for a side of salsa. I also ordered a side Caesar salad, but was told there was no romaine lettuce, so I settled for a garden salad with Caesar dressing. Total was over $21.00, and had a 10% discount, so $19.00. Gave waitress $25.00 including tip.
T-bone was cooked perfect, no seasoning. Eggs were ok, one was cooked done, but ok. Hashbrowns were well cooked. I received my order in a timely manner. Everything was packaged and i tried to check it. Asked for butter and got that. Paid and left.
I get to my truck, and start unpackaging everything and realised my toast was missing. I repackage everything to try to keep it warm and return. I have to wait for my toast to cook and return to my truck... And a cold steak and eggs. I just gave up and ate it cold. This was around 4:30pm and I had finally gotten to eat breakfast. To top it off, no salsa in the bag either.
Had i not been exhausted and extremely hungry, I probably would have just took it back.
I'm sure if everything had hot it would have been delicious and well worth the...
Read moreGot into Davenport, Iowa late so we opted for #Dennys which was located in the Flying J Service Station, close to the hotel, and open. We were fortunate we arrived before they closed as currently it’s not open 24 hours, However, they are hoping to change that. The service was great, and they didn’t try rushing us out. After some deliberation I decided on the Brisk-It-All Melt Handheld. Slow-cooked brisket burnt ends, crispy diced bacon, two eggs, aged white cheddar, Diner Q sauce and pickles on grilled artisan bread. The sandwich was wonderful it had great flavor, I loved the meaty goodness, and eggs are always yummy on a sandwich. The sandwich came with some lovely onion rings. The #OnionRings were hot and crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. A perfect pairing with the #BrisketSandwich Denny’s even had Heinz 57 Sauce for me to dip my rings in, it is the best sauce to dip. My Husband ordered the Mile High #DenverOmelette Three-egg omelette with ham, fire-roasted bell peppers and onions with American cheese. Served with hash browns and sourdough bread. Breakfast for dinner was what he wanted and the omelette was very good. He also enjoyed a wonderful #StrawberryBananaSmoothie made with non fat vanilla yogurt. It had been a while since we had visited a Denny’s but we were glad it still delivers consistent good food and...
