Mmm - those cauliflower bites are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with a drizzle of sweet barbecue sauce. Perfection in every single bite!! š„

I visited the establishment on a Thursday only item on the menu was the Soul Food Plate for $25 before tax. The Soul Food plate came with Collard Greens, Sweet Potatoes, Vegan Macaroni and your choice of Fried Cauliflower Bits or Fried Oyster Mushrooms, I chose the Oyster Mushrooms. I really enjoyed the vegan macaroni and the sweet potatoes. The vegan macaroni has been the best Iāve had so far and the sweet potatoes were delicious. Now as for the Collard Greens they were way too salty, I felt like I was eating a salt lick. Now idk how Fried Oyster Mushrooms could be tough but these were, I believe that the oyster mushrooms were fried ahead of time then fried again when order is placed which would make the mushrooms tough and hard. When it comes to Frying Oysters Mushrooms they need to be freshly cooked to order to maintain quality (I know from experience Iāve prepared them myself at home). The very few places Iāve tried that had vegan options were bland and tasteless and incredibly off -putting. Eating the same fake meats and vegan products from the grocery store were my only options unless I had the time to curate my own meals from scratch. (Which is never.) When I stumbled upon Shamika's page and seen all the home made food she makes I had to give it a try! Shamikaās vegan food is literally the only place I can rely on to have a vegan meal that tastes good and I always feel nourished after and not terrible like I do from pre made vegan foods.
