Malcolm's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

We were so happy when we saw the Facebook post this week that Malcolm's was having the prime rib again. Made a reservation for 6:30. Arrived to find no hostess,so walked up to the bar. Stood for a few minutes before bartender looked up. Told him we had reservations for dinner and he looked at me like a cow looking at a new gate. Finally he said find a table anywhere. As we walked thru, wenoticed that it looks like the carpet hasn't been cleaned since last time we were there, pre-COVID. We found a table for the 3 of us and waited to order a drink. . . And waited . . . And waited. Waitresses walked past our table several times and none spoke a word to us. I finally got up and took a look at the carving station and was very underwhelmed by the empty salad station, shriveled potatoes and small roast they were slicing. This used to be one of the most impressive Prime Rib dinners available. We were so disappointed that after more than 30 minutes of being ignored we finally got up to leave. On the way out I said to the server tapping on the computer that we had a 6:30 reservation and since it was 7:15 we were leaving. She shrugged her shoulders and with a couldn't care less tone in her voice said "Okay". Not sure what has happened, is this the future of dining out? No management, no supervision, no care to satisfy the customer. We won't be going back, and would caution anyone thinking...

I took my family to Malcolms for dinner on February 9, 2020. It was a total disaster. The wait staff were pleasant but totally unskilled. We waited a long time to be handed menus and then only 1 was available for 6 of us. It took forever to give the order and a long wait before the food arrived. One dinner was wrong, another was not edible. Quality of food was below average. Just a mess from beginning to end. I was told one dinner was going to be removed from the bill, which it wasn't. I was told the chef was new and she herself, the waitress was new. We have been here several times in the past years and found it pleasant and enjoyable. Not sure I would go again given the cost and total unpleasantness of the experience. In order to post this review I had to give it a star. It was not even worth one...

If I could give Malcolm's Bar and Grill less than one star I would. I can't imagine who came up with this new menu but it is absolutely horrendous! If you are looking for a quick bite or lunch it might be just ok; however if you are looking for a nice dinner....forget it...stay away! The food was terrible! Not to mention the price for what they have to offer in addition to an automatic 20% percent service charge that does not include the server's tip.
