Off the grid, exiting the Des Arc exit if you're coming from Little Rock (40 East) or the Biscoe exit if you're coming from Memphis (40 West.) I don't know if the "cash only" rule disappointed me or intrigued my curiosity so, I had to try it. I read the reviews and being the BBQ connoisseur (lol,) I took the road less taken. I ordered a pulled pork (they were out of beef,) and a rib sandwich with no sauce. The pork was perfectly seasoned and the BBQ sauce almost has a steak sauce flavor (vinegary) but works well with the cole slaw and the meat. The ribs were tender, well seasoned and actually tasted like they were smoked. Tastes like home cooked backyard BBQ. Long story short, this made #2 in my top 3 BBQ spots in Arkansas. My number #3 spot: Smoking In Style BBQ in Hot Springs (hadn't tried McClards or Stubby's yet.) And my #1 BBQ is: Pull Up At Big Dave's in Little Rock. These lists can change!!! Fat Boys Killer BBQ on Arch St in Little Rock is my wild card for the ribs. Only one disappointment with Craig's BBQ: the price on a slab of ribs. Upon return, I ordered a slab, with 4 sandwiches (at $5 a piece,) and a $3 smoked sausage. My total was $77!!! That's a $50 slab of ribs!!! They don't have a slab price, they charge by the pound. My advice, don't order a slab, order 4 rib sandwiches and you got a slab with bread for half the price. I'm not going to rate them lower than 5-stars for that. I could've just said "no" but I paid for it 🤦🏾♂️ Regardless, I'll be back and making better decisions next time...
Read moreI finally drove out here to check out this highly rated bbq spot (according to my coworker). There's only a few tables inside so I decided to get something to-go. I asked for a rib plate and the lady said they were out of ribs. The bbq beef was my backup but they were out of that too. So I reluctantly got a bbq pork sandwich with mild sauce and slaw on the side. The pork is sliced, not pulled and the sandwich is quite small. It was just under 6 bucks but felt like a snack sandwich. As far as taste goes, it was just ok. I tried with and without slaw and it's definitely a bit better with the slaw. But I am not a fan of their bbq sauce, which is quite vinegary. I'm sure some folks like it, but for me it's a pass. I have to add that I was a bit annoyed that they were out of 2 meats by 1:30, when they were open until 7 on that particular day. If the demand is that high they should prepare more....
Read moreFiesta in the mouth and delectable to the taste buds. Your salivary glands will overflow with contentment. I am from the "show-me" state and am convinced this may be the finest BBQ in the Pig Sooee state. A good friend raved about it and after I visited Craigs with him, I'm now a huge fan. Due to the pandemic, you can only order at the window on the side of the building.we waited about 15 minutes in a tent with chairs until our name was called. Cars continually arrive and depart. Don't bring plastic. Cash or check are the excepted payments for this extraordinary cuisine. My friend also bought a case of their "spicy" sauce and bought me a bottle of the " mild" sauce. The sandwich is edified when you include the slaw on it. For me, it was Christmas in March. This is a bucket list recommendation for all who are in search of a once in a lifetime...
