Quick summary: Great old-fashioned food, fast service, entirely awkward customer service all around. Only 1 employee wearing a mask. This was my first visit to this restaurant. My husband used to be a regular when he was younger. I want to say the food is great! It really reminds me of my grandmother's cooking. We don't live nearby but I would definitely come back for the food. Service is quick and tables are clean. This restaurant is much like your school cafeteria. You tell them what you want as you stand in line and it's dipped for you. Sides and veggies are served in separate bowls so nothing is soggy or soupy. Food is the perfect temperature and tastes fresh. There is plenty of variety and cold foods are kept cold. They are refrigerated and not kept on a counter which is great. They do have sugar-free dessert options and ice cream, as well. The dining area has that old 90's touch of Mammaw's kitchen and it seems to be of a pretty decent size for the area. If you want much else (and by "else" I'm referring to friendly customer service) well, we didn't find it at this diner today. The sign standing at the beginning of the line was handwritten and hinted that masks were not welcomed and only one employee was seen wearing one. The sign says they want to see your smile but it is apparent they do not want to give you theirs. We like to go to privately owned places and support them. We enjoy great food and we give appreciation even when it doesn't look like customer service employees feel appreciated. My advice is order over the phone for pickup and skip the visit experience. The food is worth it. Trust me.

First time trying Caddo cafeteria after only hearing about it for 15+ years. Made the drive out for lunch today. When you walk in, grab a tray, napkins and silverware. If you want dessert, there are traditional cake and pie slices available. Walking through the hot food line, they ask what you want and you pick whatever you want. I ordered chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, green beans and cornbread. I was absolutely shocked when I got to the register and the cashier said it was $6.96 and I was like, that's all? Super inexpensive hot meal. I was a little lost on where I needed to go for a drink/condiments, but a server did give directions. Food quality was nice - good old fashioned country buffet food. The restaurant building itself was on the older side. It was clean, but very worn. Will I go back? Yes. Definitely worth the money.

Very good food! I tried humming bird cake for the first time! The lights were soooo dim. So I would recommend if you go here to eat in the back. I didn’t really love the fried okra (which is normally one of my favs), but it wasn’t that bad, it was just off. One of the deal breakers for this place is the music selection.( hence a lost star) These songs would be extremely inappropriate for littles. Which I understand some restaurants play this kind of music, however this restaurant would appear to be a family friendly restaurant. So that was so disappointing. Wish this world wasn’t so cruel.Such profanity 😔
