McDonald's — Restaurant in Decatur

Of all local McDonald's that I bounce between, this is by far, my preferred go to, even if it is a bit out of way most days. I have never had a bad experience here, but this mornings visit was particularly review worthy. I got there at 5 a.m., and the drive thru ladies, particularly Carol, were very courteous, friendly, and super fast getting my order out. Plus, my order was handed to me in a professional way. Bag neatly folded. Honestly, in today's rushed, sometimes stressed environment, you get so used to having your order shoved haphazardly out the window at you, sloppily packed, and marched on your way, that when you get REALLY good service, you tend to take extra notice. Excellent job, ladies!! Especially at 5 a.m., when most people are barely coherent. Lol

I only deducted one star because I have to say the difference between day & night is dramatically different. Line was super slow despite only having a few customers. If you're going to sell a mile long list of food to someone, common sense tells you to pull them aside. I've had every other McDonald's pull cars over for FAR less. But a 15 minute wait for only a couple of standard items because you don't want to walk an order out to someone with a grocery list is ridiculous. The young person working the 2nd window was absolutely stone faced. No hello, no thank you. Food tossed sloppily all into the bag. Don't nuggets generally come INSIDE of a container instead of all over the bottom? I won't return to this location on nights if I have this experience again. I was not...

It would appear that at least one particular cashier young black lady at this McDonald's may be slightly racist. While using profanity with a co-worker with me standing at the counter waiting to take my order she looked up and realize that I had heard her. I gave her my order and the only words she said to me were quote your total is. I sat in the restaurant and watched her serve other customers and it appeared that the Black customers she would talk more to than the white customer and she gave attitude too and didn't say much to them. Then a little old man came up to order and got very frustrated with her attitude and lack of customer service, raised his voice, which got the attention of the manager and the young lady decided to throw a fit right there at the counter. The manager sent her to the back and at that point I went up and spoke with him and informed him that she had done the same thing to me that she did to the little old man. Wont be back for some time due to this. The trucker crowd is not the people you want to act like that with as we dont tolerate it nor do we forget it easily. Im a trucker & when I say I literally am going to every mcdonalds across the US, I mean it 😂! I have been collecting the inside out toys and I only had 2 left to collect! Every Mcdonalds except one, have been without question absolutely rude & not helpful in the slightest. I was devastated but kept the fight. See I lost my child who absolutely loved inside out just as much as myself and well these toys just mean something to me! Anyways, my point, here in Illinois I asked a wonderful lady named Desire if she had my last 2toys. This woman without hearing my sob story literally went digging through a box and found them. I asked how I could have them, be it exchange for extra ones I still have or if she could hold them till I purchase a happy meal later etc whatever it took!
