Los Amigos Decherd — Restaurant in Decherd

Visited this location on a whim while having to wait in the area for a couple hours.

I got the ground beef and beans nachos. Simple and straight forward, and they were pretty good. I feel like they could have used more beans and cheese, but there was a ton of ground beef on them. Of course that is just my opinion, tastes will vary. They were delivered pretty quickly, hot and fresh. No complaints overall!

While trying to decide on a dessert, the owner suggested giving their ice cream nachos a try. Apparently this is a new dessert they are perfecting that is not yet on the menu. I have included a picture of them with this review. It is essentially a layer of flat sopapilla chips. Tortilla pieces fried and coated in cinnamon and sugar. On top of that are cooked apple slices, caramel sauce, ice cream, and whipped cream. Essentially, an apple pie ala mode on sopapilla chips. I found the ratios to be pretty spot on, and the 'chips' and apples both tasted fresh. If you read this, I will suggest asking for them even if they aren't on...

The food was top notch! My husband had the steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas. The were perfect. The green peppers 🫑 & onions 🧅 were perfect. I wasn't sure what I was going to have so I told our waitress what I had a a previous restaurant and she suggested the Brooke's Special.so I had the Brooke's Special and it was fantastic. This is my new favorite dish. It has steak, shrimp and chorizo in it with green peppers and sauteed zucchini. It sits perfectly on a bed of cheesy rice. We got so lucky when we randomly picked Los Amigos for dinner this Sat night! Tired and hungry, we rolled in and were greeted (and served) by the owner, Heather. It was karaoke night and they were fairly busy and getting busier as we ate. The drinks were cold, the service was fast and the"just- right" amount of attention, and the food was amazing. I had the best fajita chicken quesadilla I have ever had, the best homemade guacamole I've had in a restaurant this side of Santa Fe, and we even shared a fried ice cream.
