So about 2 weeks ago a discussion about pizza happened with some guys at work. Cliffs Bar was mentioned by more then one person and we are about 45 minutes away by highway. This information intrigued me as I have been a long time pizza foodie ever since I worked at another iconic Michigan pizzeria during what I considered it’s pinnacle- B&C pizza off M-15 in Bay City back in the 86-87’ timeframe. First guy to ever eat a whole party pizza with everything within an hour? I was there and helped make it! (But that’s a story for another time) Add to this pizza foodie experience traveling the world in the military 90-98 then traveling the country working at various times 98-2004. Chicago- check New York- check Plus a litany of other locations- additional references upon request! 😉 This pizza is on par with the best of the best around the and needs to get the recognition it deserves. The crust is a delight, has a crisp but not cracker like mouthfeel not is it chewy or doughy. The items are quality- applied fully, covering the entire pizza up to its crust edge- the crust edge is like a fantastic breadstick in its own right and would give Bijou’s pizzeria in Colorado Springs a run for its money. The waitress was very friendly and attentive despite covering the bar in addition to several tables for food. She enhanced the experience that was already stellar! Okay- what are you all waiting for?!? Go try it!

The food was brought out one thing at a time 5 plus minutes apart. They gave our appetizer to another table and told us it was due to shift change and the cook had to catch up. We never got our appetizer, as it was still not done when my food FINALLY arrived, a good twenty minutes after my daughter's and my boyfriend's food. The second waitress was on top of things a very polite. She did try to make it up to us by taking the appetizer off our bill but, at that point, we were already well into our dinner so we canceled it. It wasn't crowded at all, and there were only two other table tops when we came in.

Sorry, dug into the food before I could take a pic! Chesseburger with the works was savory and the onion rings were perfect. The hubby had a calzone.. and he was full and couldn't finish my onion rings. Drinks and our bill was on point. The 2 bartenders were wonderful and attentive. I will make a point to come here again!

To all readers, I HATE writing this review! To the owners and management, please, pay attention; you're business is in serious trouble!

I've loved this bar, for seven years, since I moved to the area and tried their pizza! Prices were great. Food was good quality. Drinks were generously poured. But, I understand that the business was sold, recently, and things have changed. At first, it was for the better. The jukebox and pool tables were updated, without raising the prices much. Food, drinks, and service were every bit as good as my wife and I were used to. We welcomed the change. Suddenly, all of that has changed! The sauce and the crust on the pizza is noticeably low quality. Even the toppings are not tasty, now. We ordered two cheeseburgers and fries, to go, and, reluctantly, paid $24 plus tip! The fries tasted like the cheapest generic you can buy. The burgers were very good, but not worth ten bucks a piece!

The worst part of our most recent visit was the service. The bartender will drive this classic establishment into the ground! Read the other recent poor reviews; they all mention the rude, careless bartender who treats customers with disgust. My wife went to pick up our order and she waited for more than five minutes before the bartender bothered to greet her. My wife asked for our order. The bartender found the order, picked it up, then set it back down, to greet and serve a man who just came in and sat at the bar. She was cheerful and flirtatious with him, while ignoring a customer she was in the middle of serving! She served another man a drink, before coming back to our order. She gave my wife the total and completed the transaction with the attitude that our food order was a horrible inconvenience to her real job of pandering to the men at the bar.

This is NOT the incredible establishment that we were used to! Please, bring back the high-quality ingredients and menu selections and re-train your wait staff, to be courteous and attentive to ALL off your costumes, not just the men who order drinks and tip well. If you don't care about the food side of your business, then stop offering it and only serve drinks and bar snacks. Otherwise, you will be looking at...

So we take a girls tubing trip every summer at whites around the corner and make it a point to stop at cliffs for pizza afterwards however the service we received this time was beyond horrible. Waited over 1 hour. & 20 min for some pizza and no they weren’t even busy the blond hair bartenders attitude was horrible and at no pint during our wait did anyone even come and check to see if we needed anything not to mention we literally seen our food sitting in the food window for 15 min before she even paid enough attention to see it was ready . The whole atmosphere was just a little off considering there was a very young girl no more the 7-8 years old sitting at the bar .. just a uncomfortable and very...
