Masters BrewHouse — Restaurant in Deer Park

UPDATE: We gave Master’s Brewhouse a second chance tonight. We were pointed towards an open table upon entering. The food was amazing as always, the atmosphere was awesome.. inviting kids up to sing with the live music, and our server Brandon L was running the floor like a pro. Attentive to every table, timely with our drinks/food, and made sure our orders were to our liking before and after serving us. Burgers are phenomenal, if you like a blonde beer, try their strawberry blonde. Their huckleberry cider is always a must have! With service like this, we will be coming back.

Food was great, this is nothing against the cooks. We arrived at 430 pm with only a few tables seated before us, and took us 5 minutes to be seated at the door. Once we were seated, 15 minutes went by with multiple eye contacts from the waitress with no interaction. The table next to us that arrived about the same time, received their drink orders before us. We had to flag down the waitress and tell her how long we’ve been there for service and ask to order our drinks. The table next to us was also stressed, assuming for the same reasons. As we ordered, we rushed our food order in as well fearing we wouldn’t be waited on for awhile, as we were there for a dinner prior to a father daughter dance this evening. A total of 1 hour and 20 minutes we were there. Very disappointing as we’ve been customers in the past. Waitress service needs some looking into, the chatting behind the bar when we’re patiently waiting and not checking in on our table is not...

Masters has expended a lot since first opening. lots more room. nice atmosphere, and excepting/accommodating children. We went for my wife birthday so we had a larger party of about 10.

Great selection of beers and ciders. Poisonberry was very tasty as well as the barrel stout.

the food and service is where I felt like this placed lacked. Either short staffed or maybe our party was too much I'm not sure. we had 2 people in our party have our drinks brought out way late. most of the rest of our table was almost done with the first round before we even had ours. Not as delayed as our food times, (see later in review) But long enough to make a difference. Apparently they were sitting at the bar but the server forgot or wasn't' enough people to bring it.

they did accommodate one person in our party for an allergy which we loved. Their food was good, however when it was brought to our table, it was warm at best; and the fries were cold. Food was also brought at way different times. About 20-30min difference between when the first people at our table got food and when the last people got theirs. I realize we are a big party but it makes the eating experience tainted when the first half of the table is done eating and the second half hasn't gotten their food yet.

June 8, 2022. update to our last visit here. What a turn around!! we ventured up again to see if things had improved and WOW what a difference. we were greeted and seated right away. The server came right over and started taking our drink orders. They came out quickly (we had a group of 10) so it was a reasonable time frame. They took our food orders and it was quick and hot. Truly a great turn around from the last time we were there. Excellent Job. They have expanded the seating area which is great because it could at times get crowded. I am so happy to recommend them to everyone. I have updated my rating to 5 stars.

Sadly the poor and very, very slow service overshadows the quality of the food. Having been there several times in the past 3 months I have witnessed the sharp decline in what one expects to be basic service. After seating ourselves it took no less than 20 minutes to even get a waitress to come to our table. Drinks ordered at that time took 20 minutes to be delivered. We ordered our food at the same time, which took 30 minutes to be served. Now the food there is very good and is why I drive 45 minutes to eat there. If you frequent them, plan on it taking 1 1/2 hours or more to eat a burger and fries.

Perhaps locals get better service, I'm not sure, but if they do then at least someone is benefiting from...
