Outpost Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Deer River

In July of 2011 our Tri State Tour Group of 38 people had reservations to eat at the Outpost Bar and Grill in Deer River, MN. It took 90 to 120 Minutes for our group members to receive there orders. So we ordered at 6:30PM and people in our group started receiving their food around 8:30PM to 9PM. Our group was the only people eating in the restaurant part. Most of our group was made up of retired persons from Iowa and Illinois who were trying to enjoy the trip to Minnesota's highlights. The Rude Head manager tried to pick a fight with our very kind, polite, and sweet tour director from Tri-State. The Outpost manager called her a liar and said profane words to her. People who ordered fried chicken - it was dry and over cooked. The fish was cold and under cooked. I would never recommend this...

Delicious food. I have been staying at the hotel Nextdoor for 3 weeks and have been eating here 4-7 nights. The food is absolutely amazing. The bartenders are attentive. .We’ve only had one night that the food was subpar. Pizza is great even tho they put the pepperoni under the cheese. Every burger we’ve had was to die for. The broasted chicken sandwich is my go to 10/10. The nachos are HUGE & more than you could ask for! The potato chips are unique and a must (definitely ask for extra cheese with them). We got the Chicken Tenders Basket (6-8 strips and a TON of fries!) and shared an order of cheese curds which was both tasty and generously sized!! Very impressed with the food, especially when stopping by randomly on a Sunday night when we were just two of five total people inside.
