Champney's has good food and great customer service. We were seated outside so we didn't get to enjoy the nice indoor ambiance but we still thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We ordered the clam chowder, lobster roll, grilled chicken and bacon sandwich, and the B-52 chocolate mousse cake as well as a flight of local ciders. I really enjoyed their seafood offering as you can taste how fresh they were. I felt like the sandwich was fine but a bit messy. Bread got a little bit soggy with the maple syrup which confusingly didn't impart as much flavor as I would have expected. The cake was a great way to end the meal though. We had to wait 45 minutes even at 1:30 but it was well worth the wait. We also walked around and explored the historic houses on the street so time passed quickly. Very pretty area overall as well. Would come back if we're nearby

After a day touring museums, it was nice to sit down to a well prepared meal. Located in the youngest building on the street, this charming restaurant has well-earned my hopefully soon to be repeated business. They were very accommodating to everyone in my party, and made sure that everything was just as it should be. I recommend the sheppard's pie as it's made with the correct ingredients. It was delicious. Also amazing was that they offer white anchovies on the Cesar salad. You never get that kind of quality anymore. It is definitely worth a stop in if you're passing through.
