What a remarkable store. You walk in and can smell the smoked produce and if you weren't hungry, you will be. Everything is smoked in house behind the shop area over a fire of apple, cherry, hickory or sweet maple woods. There is a board on the left listing all their homemade sausages from all around the world as well as hams and other items. We bought some kielbasa, Canadian bacon and breakfast sausages. The owner overheard a question we asked about the smoking process and gave us a backstage tour and it was just wonderful. The fire is lit in the basement below the racked meats and the smell was so wonderful. seriously - they make their own sausage, it's local, delicious, you can get it fresh (or frozen), their smoked bacon is out of this world, and they were so freaking amazing that even when they lost power and we drove 2 hours to go here and were 'technically' closed - they estimated with cash so they could electronically put the transaction in when the power came back on for us.
to me, that is worth 10 stars :)

I have been there and watched people from Virginia buy 50 pounds of sausage because they can't get anything nearly as good between their home and here. We have done taste tests with very fancy sausage places in New York City, and Pekarski's comes out on top. Simple, family-owned-and-operated, and now they even take credit cards!
