Decor was lovely, giving the restaurant a quaint, homey aesthetic. They were able to accommodate our party of 9 on a Saturday evening (definitely call ahead, they don't take reservations but they were able to get a table ready when we were on our way)! The owner and waitress was wonderful and hospitable. We were celebrating an anniversary of a business and completion of our Scuba certification so they brought out a complimentary slice of their Italian Cream Cake, which was delicious! The bread was warm and our basket was kept full (again waitress was great). My CHICKEN PICCATA was dry and the piccata sauce isn't a type of sauce that can compensate. I tried someone's CHICKEN PARMASEAN and while the chicken was still dry, the sauce added some moisture back. The LASAGNA was recommended to the table and that was much better, a bit salty for my taste but the cheese had good elasticity. The portions were smaller than what I expected for the prices, but it was still affordable. Overall if you're looking for Italian food, good people, and a pleasant environment in the area I think you should give this restaurant a try. My review was largely influenced by my disappoinment with my food but other members of my party raved about their experience. I would try this restaurant again if I'm back in the area, this time asking for a recommendation.

At the end of my long day I was treated with kindness & courtesy & had a delightful meal. The special of the day was Chicken Florentine & it's all home-made & delicious-o! I topped off everything with an Italian Cream Cake that would make Italians like Emarald Lagasse smile & ask for more! It was moist, creamy & had just enough pecans! I thought the place looked familiar even though it was my 1st time there. 1 wall reminded me of something I'd seen on the TV show Restaurant Impossible... Well I was in the right place, just a few years later! Everything looks beautiful. The service is great & the food is fantastic. I'm going to be a loyal customer!

No wait and immediately seated. I chose our Server's suggestion, Chicken Alfredo. Shortly after being seated a 10-top appeared. Our service basically stopped. It's Christmas, I generously tip big even with blase service. When finished, my 2 friends and I waited at the cash register for 5 minutes or longer while no one was waiting to be seated. Finally, Frumpy Freda (older lady) shows up disgusted because now there are people waiting. She made the comment, "Well, she's talking", (to an infant seated nearby) and rung up someone else. Once she got to me, she told me my total, I gave her my card. She asked if I wanted to leave a tip, and I said, "yes, I'd like to enter it myself." Next thing I know, she's rang the entire order without my being able to add it to my receipt. Then, with extreme attitude and SMARTLY, she said, THAT'S WHY I ASKED you. I replied, and I told you I wanted to enter a tip myself. So...crappy enough as it was, other guests in ear-shot all had the same look on their faces as myself, she took my ticket--SLAMMMMED it on the counter and said "just write it in, I'll pay it!". (After thought, I wished I'd signed it for $100 now.) But I told her, "just forget it" and walked back into the dining room to hand my server a $20 telling her Merry Christmas. The food was good, not great; the service stopped once the large party was seated; and the Old Crab's treatment cost them fnot only a return customer, but I will tell EVERYONE I know, "Don't go there". In fact, my friends with me said the same thing. Tradewinds in Niceville is my Italian...

We frequently ate at this restaurant in the past but the last 3 visits brought this review on. I don't know what changed but the quality of food is better out of a hungry man dinned. My wife and myself both ordered the chicken picatta. When it arrived it was what looked like 3 dried out chicken tenders that where butterflied and sat in a watered down over lemoned juice. No mushrooms no garnish just chicken and lemon water. The waitress said it was a stock and she could go get mushrooms if we wanted. The so called chicken seemed to be aged after cooked then microwaved to perfect rubber. The side of spaghetti was sauce from a can you could taste the metal from it.. The pasta itself was ok. Our sons meal was chicken alfredo. And at a whopping 17.00 dollars we asked for a half order. He said his was good but only seemed to eat the chicken and about 3 bites of the pasta. My daughter ordered the lasagna it had about 2 inches of meat sauce drownding the 1 inch thick piece of so called lasagna. A total bill of 76.34 with tip. I feel like I have been robbed. You are losing alot of customers due to the quality of your food. Like I said we have eaten there alot in the past and the food was superb but the last three time have ended our visits. And to all the loyal customers please be honest when you recommend a restaurant. I know you can't think some of this food is as good as you are saying. Doing this is only to give constructive criticism to the owner so they fix the issues and save...
