Julio's Seasoning & Corn Chips — Restaurant in Del Rio

Have been here sevaral times before and was good. We went in with a rather large crowd. Asked if they made a certain plate, they didn't know what I was asking for. So I ordered from menu and modified myself. Half the group got their meals fairly quickly, but our half took much longer. By the time we received our meals, the other half of group were already finishing up theirs. By this time I was already starting to lose my appetite. Finally, when I had my plate started eating. But half the plate was cold and half was hard. Needed a knife to cut into a part of meal that shouldn't need knife to cut. So I said, I'm done with this. I took my plate to the counter and asked for refund. I explained that the ordered took too long to receive and that the food was not good. They reluctantly gave me a partial refund for the ordered. They also said that the reason they took longer than usual is that it became busy. But I said that we were with a group that half received meals quickly but the others didn't. Received nothing but excuses and attitude. ...

After much anticipation to try their food because I Love the chips and salsa that I buy in my hometown, Houston, TX. I left the place EXTREMELY disappointed. At the moment we entered, a lady said “you have to order there cuz we don’t take orders at the table” , her tone was a very rude tone. When we ordered the lady with short hair and tattoos was bothered that we asked for our sauce on the side rather than over the taquitos. While waiting, the cashier (same that took our order) was picking at her teeth with mouth WIDE open and flicking whatever was coming out from between her teeth. Once the food arrived, no utensils were given and we were told they’d bring them. After no utensils were provided, my husband just got up and got them. We asked for jalapeños peppers and they were brought to our table but rather than handing them over, the waitress just kind of flopped them on the table. The food was good but the service was very disappointing. I don’t think I will support the brand anymore, not that it will make...

We tried ordering catering from them for an after-funeral luncheon (had used them before for a similar function, and food/service was good). Contacted them four days prior to need date. No response - three days prior, called them again. Were told "owner is the only person that can handle that, he will call you back, but he is very busy and he doesn't like us to put extra demands on him, he can be very hard to deal with". After waiting till two days prior, we decided we couldn't wait any longer and went with HEB sandwich and cheese trays instead. HEB's service, in comparison was excellent. Julio's NEVER called us at all. In my humble opinion, not handled professionally at all (totally ignore/decline a catering customer???). Hope we were an exception and this isn't how they treat all...
