We are in town for the Hubster's 50th high school reunion which will be held at the Delta 109, so we thought we'd scope out the food before we committed to it the following night.
He got the BELT, which is a bacon, egg, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. He got it without the third piece of toast and he still didn't eat all the bread because it was so big. It has two eggs, one on each side of the sandwich that was split in two. It came with a side. He chose onion rings, which were NOT extra - surprising! And they were HUGE!! Only three would fit on the plate. They were the size of your fist (see photo). He says his dinner was "very good. The egg added a unique twist to the standard BLT" .
I got the Michigan Cherry Salad and it was delicious! At first they brought it out with chicken on it, and I do not recall reading that it came with chicken, but he gladly took it back and I watched him make a new one. They make their salads fresh each time at a salad bar right there in the dining room. I was pleasantly surprised, because I halfway expected him to take it in the back and come back out very shortly later with it without the chicken on it... ie, just removing it from the salad and then serving it, since I didn't say I didn't want it on there first place. Guaranteed stars!!
It was supposed to come with a balsamic dressing and he gave me oil and vinegar, which was fine, I like both. It was an AMAZING salad. I would GLADLY eat another again! It had lettuce, red onions, dried Michigan cherries, chopped pecans and blues cheese crumbles. Mix it all up properly and... BAM! WOW!
I also snuck in an "Adult" drink, along with my regular "Northern unsweet tea" (which always tastes different than Southern unsweetened tea!). I had an Apple Mule. Why? The habanero! I 💕 habanero! Sadly, though, the $8 drink was only so-so. I wouldn't pay that much for it again - I probably wouldn't pay for that drink at all. Next time I'll either stick to the tea... Or get something else!
All in all, our waitress, Rocky was great and we are eager to return tomorrow for...
Read moreWe went on a Friday night and sat at a high table. Our waitress was very slow, ordered beer and a soft drink which was just color and water would not recommend pay the price for a soda with it is just watered down to no taste. We ordered all you can eat fish and a Monterey chicken dinner, and then the wait began. Four people came in about 15 minutes after we were there and order and then another couple arrive after them. They all got their food and was done eating before we got ours. Our waitress came to us and asked a 2nd time what we ordered and we repeated it to her. Then she came back 10 minutes later to ask what I had ordered. Now the all you can eat fish comes out and she brings me a chicken sandwich with avocado on it and states it's the Monterey chicken and I told her no, the Monterey chicken is not a sandwich , the Monterey chicken has BBQ, bacon, and cheese on it. She got mad and takes the sandwich back and 5 minutes later asked me a 4th time what I ordered! Another 10 minutes and it finally comes out, at which time, my son in-law asked for more fish since it was all you can eat and he had already finished what they had brought him earlier. Wow, another 15 minutes pass and she asked if I wanted a box for my leftover chicken and I stated no but we had asked for more fish which she had never placed the order! At this time we told her never mind just give us the bill. To pay $12.99 for 2 pieces of fish with some fries was ridiculous but the thought of waiting who knows how long for more fish would be just as painful. We will never be back, they could careless about their customers. Let alone when we arrive and when we left we nearly got ran over by the waitresses coming in and out of...
Read moreWe were recommended to go here from a fellow geocacher attending Midwest Geobash in Wauseon. We definitely were not disappointed! We were cutting it close to closing, but as we waited on the front sidewalk for two more of our party (we were a party of 11), the door opened and we were greeted and welcomed very warmly by who we can only guess was the owner/manager. We were given choices of where to sit, and she convinced us the 2nd edition was "cooler" so we followed. Excellent choice. We were given food recommendations (John's potatoes are A MUST!), and introduced to our server. We must say everything was superb! There is no doubt we will be back next year. Some of our group even put you on our calendars for July 28th, 2019! This is definitely a wonderful place to stop for a great meal...
