I had the #5 lunch special, “for here.” It’s really a takeout place, but my food was served to my table (booth). Given the reviews, I had low expectations. They were met. Pork did have flavor. Egg Roll was pretty good and had a shrimp inside. Chicken Fingers were decent, not soggy and not overcooked. Yes, they were expectedly oily. I chose the Lo Mein over the Fried Rice. It was fine, but nothing memorable.
Honestly this does not deserve a 4 rating. It irks me that “local guides” are allowed to gives 5’s when clearly they are unjustified. I don’t trust their reviews. Although some of the 3’s were local guides, so that tells you all you need to know. I reserve 5’s for the best.
Let’s face it, there is no great Chinese food on Cape Cod. One trip to Quincy will teach you that. I can’t say that I can recommend this place, but I would consider eating their food again. Lastly I say that I believe many people have lost a degree of smell and taste due to...
Read moreBest stuff on cape!!! I feel like alot of the reviews are from people who may not be here year round? The food is greasy, real stuff lol. It's delicious. We've had Chinese food from almost anywhere and this is our FAVORITE. Even before they were in the building they're in we have ordered from them. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience. They're all super nice, always a smile. Never charge extra for more duck sauce etc.. Most of the other places taste like...I don't know if American is the best word. Fried rice is usually crunchy and dark. It's fried. It shouldn't taste like regular rice with soy sauce. This is the only dish that varies. Sometimes there more onion. Sometimes the onion is raw and not really cooked (usually busier nights), but most of the time it's delicious. For greasy. Hangover. Happy new year type Chinese, this is the best place to go. (And order out. Eating there is weird. It's not an eat in type...
Read moreI understand that food pricing is in flux and that menus quickly get out of date. I'm willing to accept that I might have to pay more.
What I detest is unfair and dishonest changes to the content of dishes. I had the kung boo style, which is described as containing bamboo shoots and other vegetables, one of which was celery. Now, I like celery as much as the next person. But this dish was virtually ALL celery snd a few carrots. Not a single bamboo shoot to be found, and just a few peppers. As fot hot peppers, it was bland to the point of absurdity.
You know the old joke about "do they have Chinese food in China?". Well this probably wouldn't be classed as Chinese food there.
Just be honest about what you put in dishes, so I don't waste my time eating what is NOT...
