Dennison Yard — Restaurant in Dennison

Arrivederci Dennison Yard. It's been a good run after several years of driving an hour one way to support your business. We were there last month and noticed a slight price increase on your entrees. No big deal. We drove back down December 5, 2022 for dinner. Ordered our usual dinner entrees and was absolutely shocked when our server brought them. I asked her if this was a lunch portion. She replied "no". Told her we were just here last month and entrees were always served in large bowls not salad portion platters. She only replied "sorry". As a business how can you justify decreasing a pasta entree by 50%, the sausage portion of the entree by 75%, still have a price increase and your devoted customer is unaware of this as this change is not reflected on your menu. It is your routine customers that are being deceived. Had we known of the change, we would have left instead of paying for 2 dinners and ultimately only receiving 1 dinner as entree portions were cut in half. Does the portion decrease also extend to your appetizers and pizza or does it solely apply to pasta entrees? We always order the sausage and peppers pasta entree. As previously stated, pasta was decreased by 50% and sausage portion was decreased by 75%. If you put the sliced sausage together it appeared to be half a link. However, the customer is still paying full price for half a dinner. This issue was mentioned several times with our server who continued to apologize and offer us more bread. We didn't drive an hour and pay $16 each for bread. Regular entrees would have been sufficient. There are plenty of other restaurants that would love to have our business and we can eliminate the gas expense by not driving a total of 2 hours for dinner....

On Nov. 12, 2014 I went to the Yard just to have a few beers with girlfriend.

Sat at corner of bar and atmosphere was very family oriented and friendly. Barmaid, her name is Rose Martini, was very polite and bar service was excellent. Things went very south about 830pm as three gas line employees sat right down by me and my girlfriend at the bar and immediately started heckling girlfriend, just being obnoxious a$$clowns. I raised my voice, directing attention of the waitresses and fellow bar guests, Rose approached us and asked the 3 to move. FINALLY, about 5 minutes after her initial request, two of the obnoxious idiots moved to another table... while the third tried to make things right. maybe 10 minutes later, and after receiving their nacho appetizer, the two guys at the table brings over a small plate of nachos for the third guy and the guy actually SPIT in the nachos when he brought them over. Girlfriend had to go to the restroom just to catch her breath of the ignorance that just occurred and on the way past she was literally felt up by one of these guys. I said a few words to all three of the guys, spoke to Rose and another woman who may or may not have been the manager on my way out the door about my disgust of the situation was handled. Their answer to these a$$clowns was to move them to another table??? I would of moved them out the door.

I used to go to the Yard 3-4 times a year. it was a fun family oriented place. I doubt i'll ever go back due to...

10 months ago i gave this restaurant 5 stars. NOT TODAY! Arrived at 7p.m. Sunday with guests from Kettering. We had bragged about the food and service. #1. We waited 20 minutes seeing people take booths ahead of us.#2. 25 minutes after taking our order she told us there was no lettuce to make our guest's chef salad or side salad and was told to order something else. #3. She ordered garlic toast. #4. Had no garlic on the toast, 3 of us tasted it. It was just cheese which was cold. So it was sent back and our guest sat there with no food.#5. When our meals came we had to ask for silverware. We asked 2 different servers for the silverware so we could eat our meal. When the meal came 2 bags of chips were dropped on the table, which is being "nicely" stated. It wasn't even offered to not take the unserved chef salad, side salad or cold cheese toast off the check till asked, and yet we were still charged $5.00 for a side salad that we didn't get. She said it was too late to send someone to the store to get lettuce. Then we were charged $15.50 for 1 bowl of mixed mushroom, brussel sprouts, and mushrooms, which is ridiculous! In our servers defense she did recommend an excellent wine. We won't be back and will tell everyone how badly we were treated. We were totally embarrassed by the poor treatment our guests received. We would NEVER recommend anyone going to this restaurant...
