Owner is extremely rude & unprofessional. She needs an attitude adjustment. It explains why her business has been for sale for 4 years & nobody wants to buy it.
We were eating breakfast at the restaurant across the street. There was no parking as people double parked. So we parked our 1959 Chevy in the bars parking lot, as we knew they weren’t open for another hour & the parking lot was empty. We knew we would be done & gone by the time they opened, plus this vehicle gets a ton of attention, so actually probably helped people look at her bar that may not have normally, since this bar appears dead everytime we drive by.
But after being parked for 5 minutes things quickly turned bad..
The owner came storming over in total Karen mode telling us we had to move our vehicle “from her establishment now” Which we said no problem & followed her across the road to move it. While walking, telling her sorry for parking there, that people double parked & there was no parking next door & wouldn’t have parked there otherwise. She snapped back & said to park in the back or find other parking in a very angry tone, not accepting our apology & just being angry & rude over something so minor, she acted like it was the end of the world & it hurt her so bad.
If she had handled this professionally things would have gone different. She was in the right for asking us to move, we had no problem with that & understood, not a big deal, but the huge attitude she used about it was uncalled for. She could have used this as an opportunity to invite us to her bar “hey you can’t park here right now, you’ll need to find other parking unfortunately but come back for a beer we would love to have you check out our bar” is one example of how a professional business owner would have approached the situation & honestly that would have got her future business & we would have thought nothing of it.
As we walked back to the restaurant after parking, other guests even commented about her attitude & tone. “What was her problem, what was that about, someone’s having a bad day, what a Karen, definitely not going to that place” are just a few things we heard from the crowd of other restaurants guests waiting in line that saw the interaction.
Some people just shouldn’t own businesses & this lady is definitely one of them. Hopefully someone buys it & gets her out of the hospitality business (but after being for sale for 4 years, obviously this business has...
Read moreIf you are LGBTQIA+ community, do NOT go here!!!! I was here about a week ago with my dates and I am gender-fluid I have facial hair with a feminine chest, with that being said I did ask after we ordered food, where the bathroom was, the waitress made sure to say it’s over to the left, the one that says lady’s on it with the girl cheerleader. It was with a very clear undertone of don’t dare use men’s restroom. Even my dates thought it was unnecessary as she could’ve just said the restrooms are by pool table to the left. We felt as it was an inconvenience to be there and we had to keep asking for some refills and she must’ve gotten tired of coming over cause then brought 2 refills for one person over, so it was said to, again, my dates, that the waitress must be tired of coming over to our table and another waitress who was walking by rudely interrupted us talking, again to each other, and said no she is not, she’s just busy. (It wasn’t that busy in there, I’ve worked busier places and managed it just fine, just saying.) the people cooking our food were absolutely amazing as I had a chance to ask about switching part of my food (taco shells) and she did no problems, and the food was good. But not good enough to where we would go back. So to the waitresses, please don’t inconveniently but into other people’s conversations, and please consider just being friendlier in general and learn/read about lgbtqia+ as they are part of the consumers so that you can give them an easier time about using the restroom without...
Read moreZone 18 is a nice old fashioned neighborhood type bar & grill. I like the atmosphere here and have always had a good time. Nothing particularly fancy, come as you are and bring your friends. The menu doesn't do gourmet but if you like a really good burger or a well made sandwich, fried mushrooms or really good mozzarella sticks, c'mon in and bring your friends. They actually have a pretty good menu, something for everyone. Good cocktails and a fair beer selection, there's plenty of TV and sports along with a juke box. There's even a free pool table, bring your own stick or share theirs. The decor (as locals know) is split between U of M & MSU. But really, the biggest rivalry in this place is who's the friendliest. Always a good atmosphere and...
