El Flamingo Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in DeRidder

Food is reasonably fresh but bland and mediocre. You can do worse but La Taqueria Mexicana on Pine St has MUCH better food for comparable prices. The real problem is that the management at El Flamingo is slimy and dishonest. When we placed a takeout order by phone, they took advantage of the fact that we were ordering from an old menu to deliberately misunderstand the order we were trying to place in order to charge us significantly more money for less food. Then when I tried to sort out the misunderstanding as I was picking up the order, they refused to fix it, argued with me rudely, and pretended to be bad at English in order to stonewall me.

We won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend that anyone eat there. But if you decide to do so, be very careful, pay attention to exactly what they are ticketing you for, and make sure to have them confirm each item and the price they are charging you. Otherwise you run the risk of being stolen from through deliberate overcharging.

We ordered our main course at 8:15pm , the orders came at separate times one at 830ish and the other two orders at 845ish. We ordered food during a low volume period business picked up about 20 minutes post ordering. The food itself not great. The plate was hot, the food was not. This normally happens when your items are microwaved or left on the pass for too long.There was also an incorrect food item delivered to my table for my 2yr old, but after waiting so long, we decided it wasn't worth the effort of getting it corrected. This is my granddaughter‘s favorite place to eat. They always try and place us at the same table, and when they see us pull in, they have our table ready when we walk through the door. They are always very accommodating to our needs, and all the employees go above and beyond their job descriptions, to make sure everyone is happy. On one visit, when preparing to pay, I couldn’t find my card and was starting to panic. The waitress came over to inform me, Juan ~ the manager, said not to worry about it.
