Mixed feelings on this place, but overall it was solid enough...
My initial gut reaction of this place was to give it two-stars, solely based on my own experience. However, after getting my order and watching the rest of the line treated after me, I have to admit this place is better than two-stars.
What I ordered was simple enough - their version of the ubiquitous Dairy Queen Blizzard - the “Whirlwind”. Some vanilla soft serve with Snickers that is blended evenly and consistently from top to bottom. Well, even the simplest of things are hard to pull off. My Whirlwind was poorly blended if at all with snicker pieces at the top and bottom and just soft vanilla in between. Not my expectation nor what I would consider even remotely standard - hence my gut reaction of two-stars.
My wife’s sundae was made to her expectations, so that at least was a plus, but it was what I witnessed with the patrons behind us that softened (no pun intended) my initial reaction. Person-after-person, kid-after-kid, ordered the hard-packed stuff and everyone was rewarded with a huge (and I mean huge) wad of ice cream piled high and heavy on their cone. It was impressive to behold.
So, what to do? Ultimately, I still walked away a bit dissatisfied as my order was not treated with the same eye to quality as everyone else’s so...three-stars it is for the sake of fairness. I will be back, hopefully next time I’ll find my Whirlwind a tad better...
Read moreI got a milkshake and the lid had milkshake all over it and the side of the cup and the girl at the window didn't give me any napkins to clean it off the cup and my hands. They are so cheap that they don't even give you napkins or even have a napkin dispenser to clean the mess the employee hands you. I'll definitely not be going back. Also the cashier doesn't take your money from your hand you have to put it in a little bin then the cashier takes the money out of the bin with a bare hand then fondles the money in the register to get your change, WHAT IS THE...
Read moreNice, quaint, local, non franchise affordable ice cream! I sat at a picnic table with my consumer to have ice cream, the people behind us were from Ohio and staying at a hotel near by. They even said how much more of a selection Lee's had compared to the other place they couldn't remember. People you need to check it out. Lee's employees are friendly, even Charlie lol! They have a drive thru for convenience, accept debit and credit, cash. They close at 9pm, if you're within a 20 mile radius, this is worth the drive! It beats Dq and...
