Lakeshore Restaurant — Restaurant in Dexter

Normally I don't like talking bad about restaurants or anything like that but this is an exception.

I went to this place a few years back, the food was pretty good and would've suggested to go there.

However, I went there today and had a pulled pork sandwhich combo(chicken tenders and onion rings) and my grandmother had a cheeseburger w. Fries and a drink, these were edible at best.the pulled pork was drowning in bbq sauce, the onion rings were okay, and the chicken tenders for a side tasted like they came from Walmart (no disrespect to Walmart) my grandmother's burger seemed a bit to salty and it's fries were undercooked (but edible) now I don't know if they had a change of hands since last time I had them, but it isn't the same as it used to be.

We later thought "well lets try the ice cream" now you'd think that can't get messed up that bad but somehow it did.. I had a small pumpkin and my grandmother had a small orange pineapple, both soft serves. For some reason the pumpkin ice cream was like eating a thing of sadness, didn't taste like pumpkin at all... and my grandmothers ice cream while had an orange taste didn't taste like pineapple at all but some weird mint taste.. not sure what happened there.

We hope that in the future maybe we'll try them again and things will be decent again but as of now, the food is meh/edible at best. So if you are in a need for cheap food and don't care much about flavor then go here but I personally couldn't reccomended it to anyone like I once used to

I ordered the whole belly clam basket with fries and coleslaw. My food was amazing. It tasted fresh. It was cooked perfectly and it came out super fast. I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff. The girls in there are doing an amazing job. The atmosphere is excellent because it literally sits on the shore of the lake with a local swim front, plenty of outdoor picnic tables with public restrooms and some covered pavilions. Beautifully manicured, lawns and terrific views. This is a wonderful spot to go eat some amazing food. The only thing I would recommend is to tell them to leave your tartar sauce outside of the bucket if you get a to go box. We ordered our food to go so that we could go sit on the picnic table and enjoy the outdoor seating and the lakeside scenery and my tartar sauce was placed inside my box. We went for dinner tonight. Got to go . 2 seafood combo platters shrimp and scallop with fries and coleslaw ..and fried pickles . Food was fast. Portions were OK. BUT they put a piece of wax paper in the to go containers than pile everything in it on top of each other ...it steamed both 30 dollar meals and all the breading was just mush all over the soggy fries . Didn't get any cole slaw in our meals either. The tartar sauce was so warm the lid had been melted from the food ..same with the cocktail sauce because they just put it in with the hot fried food. It was disgusting. Food would have tasted good ..had it not been a literal pile of mush . It was the same with the fried pickles ..piece of wax paper on the bottim and it steamed them all ..breading fell off every single one ..ranch was put right next to it so it was warm ranch ..nothing grosser. Meal came to over 70 bucks and I won't be back...
