Rogers Malt Shoppe — Restaurant in Dickinson

BEWARE! Walked in and the place smelled sour (thought maybe someone left a wet towel somewhere, maybe?)....Hispanic lady ( i mention this because my Spanish is weak) that took our order and I had a communication problem...she was abrasive and harsh with my kids to give them their ice cream order RIGHT NOW! I'm not a germaphobe or anything but she had a cleaning towel in her hand right before she stuck her hand in that bucket of ice cream and served my kids...gross. Basket of food was SOAKED in Old grease....took my to go order, hopped in car to have a snack before heading home and brought it right back in...when I realized all she wanted to do was argue I told her to keep the money and I left .......Save your money! It cost me eight bucks and I never .I handed it back to her and she kept the same angry face and tone of voice. If the Roger family still owns this place, I recommend checking out your help... We made the detour around I-45 construction traffic and made a special trip because I had seen this place while running errands out of League City.... when I saw all the fried fish, taco and enchilada specials plastered on the front windows I should have turned back. My family and I went to Roger's Malt Shoppe in Dickinson this evening after my 4yr old's tball game. We ordered our food at 7:01pm. There were only 4 other tables in the restaurant and no one else in line so they were not busy... ordered 3 burger meals, and my daughter ordered "nachos". After 40 MINUTES and us asking about our food TWICE our food was brought out, the girl was completely unapologetic, when I noticed my burger was made wrong than what I ordered, she pulled out the ticket and argued with me that it was made like I ordered it... I pointed to the place on the ticket where my order was written exactly like I ordered it at the counter. She still proceeded to argue with me, and still unapologetically stormed off behind the counter with an attitude. Needless to say my appetite was lost, and my sweet mother never even pointed out they made her burger wrong as well. My daughters nachos were their house chips with Monterey jack cheese melted on them (something that I could have made at home in 1 minute in the microwave), sorriest order of nachos I have ever seen in my life. After waiting 40 minutes on our food at a burger joint, and NO APOLOGIES for ANYTHING, and a food runner with a horrible attitude... needless to say we will...

The first ever eating there since living In Dickinson 9yrs, on the day of the disaster Hurricane Harvey 2017, it was a nice restaurant, understand they need to make money, but I would think as a community, they would have giving some kind of lead way, they were terribley expensive!!! Charged a $1.00 for a cup of water, and I mean for a cup of water. My fries were drenched in grease and so...soggy, bought a hot dog plain, and when walked back across to discover that it had mayo and ketchup on it. So many ppl had very little cash to get drinks, no card machine working, so they told ppl to walk back across the water to find an ATM. I will never visit again, through a trying disaster time, no one had food if they did not have a $20 to purchase from that place, and the quality was horrible. Through past disaster times, other restaurants knew how to serve their community and that place was not the place a and waited about 2hrs for my meal was expected, but due to that all should have free water.
