DB Sports Bar & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Discovery Bay

We used to go to this restaurant every week but since the new owners bought it the food is horrible. I used to go for the Buffalo wings and their Cesar salad. The wings are are now just okay not nearly as good as they used to be, any meal I order that has chicken taste so gross. I have had dry gross grilled chicken in my Cesar salad and they changed the dressing and it’s no where near as good. Last week I tried their Chicken Alfredo because I gave up hoping the Cesar salad would be good and it was the grossest thing I have eaten. The chicken tasted like it was boiled and the gross sauce was so watery it didn’t stay on the pasta (which menu said penne and it came with a different pasta). I took two bites and couldn’t eat it. My husband has made the same comments about his food used to be good… now it’s just gross! He thinks everything taste like they maybe they use store bought frozen food or something. Even the soda drinks have a weird taste to them and often are warm with a couple pieces of ice. I have complained about my food before and they didn’t care at all and still charged me full price so I don’t even complain to them anymore.

The service is now super slow, the waitresses walk by you 100 times but are slow to take your order, it’s hard to get drink refills it’s like you have to wave your arms around and scream just to get attention in that place and then, the gross food … takes forever to come to the table. Last week when we were there - we (group of 4) sat down and about 5-10 min later another group of 4 came and sat next to us. They had their drinks before us they ordered before us and their food arrived about 20 min before our. For a restaurant who is always pretty empty when we go in (we are early dinner people so maybe that’s why) they are very unorganized and excessively slow. We say every time we are in there … “there is no one in here…. Why can’t I get any service”… or “there is no one in here … what is taking so long”

It’s also often reallllly hot in there and they will occasionally turn the music up so loud you can’t even talk but the music thing isn’t all the time…. Everything else is all the time.

WE USE TO LOVE IT HERE AND NOW ITS HORRIBLE!!! we forgot how gross it is and are like ooo let’s go to the bar because we miss it… and then regret it every time. The amazing staff even left. I saw one of them at a different restaurant and asked her about it and she said it went really bad when it changed owners. I watch a lot of Gordon Ramseys kitchen nightmares and that’s exactly what I feel about this restaurant! I wish they would make it great again because we really did use to love...

We were invited to celebrate a birthday and since it's a steak house and maybe a little pricey we were expecting a very good service and good food as well. When we arrived they were kind and because we had a reservation they took us to our table immediately; however they made us wait for our food since 5:30 to around 7:00 P.M.+(UNBELIEVABLE!) the couple who invited us were extremely patient, but me myself would've left along with my husband; however, since we were invited we had to just try to enjoy their company (thank God we were not in a hurry!). I wasn't feeling very comfortable because the place was kind of crowded and we were not expecting that and on top of everything else, they were not able to serve our food at the same time and they were coming with our dishes one by one and some of us had to start eating before the others at our table, -but the worst part of it! was... that they were making mistakes getting confused about what we ordered with other tables-; they had our food sitting there for a while before they brought it to our table. By the time we got our food it was already cold and even someone in our table asked for the food to be reheated. The servers didn't even care much, they said sorry but not too worried. I don't think I would like to come back to this place. The dish I ordered was okay but not to my standards because I have gotten the same a lot better somewhere else. The bathroom was not taken care of (The boxes of gaskets were dropped right on top of the back toilet seat) I was very disappointed about everything! Also they gave us a table right next to an entrance door and people were going in and out everytime and we were freezing. I don't recommend this place. We came back for another birthday celebration Dec 17,2022. Service was better, but food not that great and the place was extra loud. Also I didn't feel comfortable when an African American guy took my card at the cashier register; because he flipped it over and took a close look at the security number of my card before he slid it to take my payment. I think that wasn't right. I hope I don't get extra charges down...

My friend and I decided to have lunch here today and sit outside since it was such a nice day. We received our drinks immediately and our orders were taken but from that point on everything went wrong. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and since it didn’t say in the description that it had cheese or any mayo based sauce I asked the waiter and he assured me it did not. I said great because I don’t want either one. We waited for over 30 minutes and still no food came. My friend said let’s give it ten more minutes then we will leave. We hadn’t seen a waiter this whole time either. About 3 minutes into the ten minute clock our food was delivered but guess what was on my sandwich? You guessed it, both cheese and a mayonnaise based sauce. I sent it back. About 10 minutes or so later my new sandwich was delivered with the same fries that were now very cold . Too hungry to wait and the fact that no waitress came outside again, I ate my sandwich and cold fries.

When the waiter came outside again to finally check on us I asked to see the manager to which he replied there are only us two waters here, no manager. He asked if I could tell him so he could leave a message I proceeded to tell him. He told me he told the cooks what I wanted and then proceeded to tell me that I didn’t need to be so rude. Really????

Needless to say I won’t be coming back soon if ever.

Update: I didn’t mention the waiter on yelp because I forgot. Also I love the way you train your waiters to take care of things especially when he called me rude when I explained why I wanted to speak to a manger that wasn’t there!!! It seems like all you is make excuses for yourself. Again he didn’t come back so I couldn’t even ask him to do something about the cold fries. After your response as manager I will for sure not...
