Yellin' Helen's — Restaurant in Dix

When a 3rd friend told me about Yelling Helen, I had to try it. There is a story behind the unusual name, but since I couldn't verify it. I will not mention that. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. The area was all outdoor seating, and plenty of it in a large area that was nicely shaded with clean picnic tables to sit all. The parking was easy in and out and this little place is busy. You can walk up and order, or do the drive thru. It's a simple menu, not a lot of choices but because of this, the service is fast. The workers were pleasant. They do offer samples which is really nice. All 3 friends recommended the strawberry butter ice cream. I ordered the barbecue nachos and it was delicious. I also got the regular strawberry butter cone. I am not a strawberry ice cream fan at all , but I have to say......it was really good. Yellin' Helen's is a cute little shack in Dix just off 37. They serve some of the absolute best Chicken Salad Sandwiches that I've had in the area to date.

Their menu is small but the taste is big! They serve dole whip ice creams and have numerous cold treats and specials!

I have not had a visit that left me disappointed nor have I had a messed up order. The food is always HOT and their sweet treats are always COLD! Did I mention it's D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S?!

Perfect little place to stop for a summer treat or a quick lunch. They do have a drive through lane along with their walk up order window.

Be cautioned, trailers must park along the road as the drive through is rather tight. I always tell people to stop and try them out if they are in the area and most make special trips just to get some of their Ice Creams!

This was definitely an experience!! We went to their drive thru, which was great! They had a line out to the street behind us and a line from both windows, however we didn't have to wait a very long time! Their cups of ice cream are HUGE!!! They have regular which is the size we got, then a large which I can't imagine the size of it! LoL (The only thing we have gotten so far, because it's sooooo good!) They the regular chocolate and vanilla but then they have daily flavors. The piña colada for example is amazing! The staff was friendly and answered our questions and served us quickly.
