Palmyra Pub and Eatery — Restaurant in Dixon Township

Ordered online for pick up we normally just order only chicken george but had a strong taste for some fettuccine alfredo and decided to try their $25 Cajun pasta which clearly states on their online menu where you order over a bed of fettuccine. Highly disappointed when I got cavatappi/cellentani noodles which are commonly used for Mac and cheese. When I called to question if I got the wrong pasta the woman on phone told me those are only noodles we have here I questioned so it’s not fettuccine noodles then? She proceeded to check with kitchen comes back to tell me no they are cavatappi noodles. I said well that’s very misleading on your website for online orders for delivery or pick up if I’m reading one thing and receiving another. She said they’re going to change their menu soon and that’s what we got. I said okay thanks I guess and that was the end of it. Their menu to order really shouldn’t have over a bed of fettuccine when the only thing is alfredo sauce on different noodles. Whether they’re changing it or not I’m surprised this hasn’t been an issue prior and changing their menu doesn’t help my issue at hand that I got completely something different than what I ordered. This review would be a 0 star if not for chicken George always saving the day. But besides that everything about our dine experience was mediocre to awful. The seating arrangement for starters is a bench seat which over a long period of time for dinner becomes uncomfortable. The time from ordering appetizers/drinks was wrong because we got appetizers before drinks and the drinks were ordered before the apps. The main course of the chicken georges ordered were made the typical 👍. But the other parts of the meal such as the drinks coming late/sporadically,the fries were made wrong and had sour cream which wasnt included and asked to be removed. The pork tenderloin sandwich also ordered at our table came with lack of pickles and the cheese on it that was ordered. The biggest problem tho we had was the lack of commitment from the staff/waiter to make it seem like our time was appreciated and prioritized. It was a mjor let down especially when silverware wasn't brought to the table before the main courses. We also had to go to the bar to refill our own water glasses which is a huge issue because i shouldnt be paying for such lack luster service. My husband and I decided to go to dinner here because they have a very nice out door dining area. They seem to take the covid recommendations seriously so we felt comfortable dining there. The parking was plentiful and convenient with a nice ramp for easy wheelchair access. Our server was outstanding, very friendly and efficient. As soon as we were sat they delivered a little basket of muffins with a sweet butter. We ordered a cheese curd appetizer which was different from any we have ever had but they were very good, I highly recommended them. One order was a combo plate, first choice was kielbasa and chicken george but they didn't have kielbasa so switched it to shrimp with a side of onion rings. The onion rings were awful, they were cold and hard so I recommend choosing something else. The other meal was a pulled pork sandwich which came with coleslaw and an onion rings on it and a side of onion rings which were cold also. Other than the onion rings the food was outstanding.
