Worth jumping off the turnpike for if you dont want fast food. This isn't as large inside as it looks from the outside, but they have a large square shaped bar in the middle with seating all around it. It's a family friendly place to go for some food and a beer. When we were there, many of the beer options were out. There were 2 beers to pick from. Otherwise you would have to pick from standard bar beers like IC Light, Yuengling etc. It's likely because they had more business than expected through the recent holiday. We were there on a Sunday before presidents day, and they were severely understaffed. The inside is rather no frills. Clean. There were definitely some communications challenges happening between staff, however they were all super nice and apologetic for taking a long time to get us drinks, refills, take our order etc. Once we were seated and placed our order, I expected like an hour long wait but our food came out probably within 20-30 minutes. It's interesting, they have these small shoestring like french fries which are obviously natural cut. Some come a bit soggy while others came more crisp. I liked both to be honest, and I could see adding gravy to the order or some cheese next time, and eating these with a fork. They give you a ton of fries too. Hopefully the owners figure out how to time both and have the option available to guests. You can't really guess on how long to fry those types of fries while doing a bunch of other things in the kitchen. Consistency can either make or break a restaurant. Nothing else even comes close in importance. The burger was a good option. I was happy with my burger. Everyone else liked their food in our large party. The food quality is a notch above what you might expect. The tacos looked really good, and well executed. Sandwiches with fresh vegetables with vibrant color (in the middle of winter). Quite the plus. Bartender was super nice, and was hustling. The waitress that waited on us was working very hard and was super nice.
And for those worried about the price. The price is right, but the quantity and quality is also there. There were a few at our table that wanted the sirloin. Sirloin is not the best cut of meat as it's usually a chewy bland cut. But they enjoyed it although it probably could have used some more seasoning from what I could taste (salt), well that's $15 and you get two huge sides. Can you even make that at home for that price?
I wish this restaurant all the success. Im so glad this...
Read moreCame in for dinner with high hopes, especially since my parents are regulars here. Big mistake. Amanda was our server, and this was—without exaggeration—the worst service I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant.
Our table of five was the first and only one seated for dinner on a quiet Thursday night. You’d think that would work in our favor. It didn’t. Out of five meals, only two were semi correct and arrived on time. One came out with meat after we specifically ordered a vegetarian quesadilla. When we mentioned it, Amanda responded with a stank face and the blank confusion of someone who looked like we’d just asked her to explain string theory.
Then came the real fun. After waiting another 20 minutes and still missing multiple meals (including my simple salad), we looked to Amanda, who hit us with a confused, “What’s wrong?” What’s wrong? We’d been sitting there for 40 minutes, missing half our order, no drink refills, and no effort on her part to check in. I let her know I was still waiting on my salad — which took another 15 minutes to arrive, and yes, it was wrong too.
At no point did Amanda apologize, own her mistakes, or even attempt to be professional. Her attitude hovered somewhere between “can’t be bothered” and “actively annoyed by your presence.” We eventually had to flag down another server, Lindsey, who — bless her — was kind, apologetic, and actually helpful. When I asked if Amanda was new, Lindsey said, “No.” Apparently, Amanda just refuses to take help or advice from someone who knows what they’re doing.
To top it off, we learned that management wasn’t there that night, which — in hindsight — explains a lot. Amanda acted like she knew no one was watching, and it showed.
Between the wrong orders, the lack of service, and the total absence of accountability, this was a disaster start to finish. Restaurants are supposed to be about hospitality. Amanda made it feel like we were interrupting her evening — and paying for the privilege.
If you’re still tempted to try Tap It, ask for Lindsey. If she’s not there, make other...
Read moreEGG ROLLS! I drove 30 min to come here and eat for the egg rolls. Only the egg rolls. (I posted my receipt as proof for you naysayers) I'm sure other food items are good too, but I'll never know as I can't bring myself to eat anything else.
The rueben egg rolls are by far the best decision you can make. The meat is juivy and flavorful. Guy fieri would be jealous as the train to flavor town would stop here.
Just to avoid being a bit too bias, I also ordered the taco and chicken bacon ranch egg rolls.
The taco ones taste like tacos. Yep.
The chicken bacon ranch egg rolls were a bit disappointing. The chicken was try but the flavor was pleasant. Make sure to order a side of ranch with this one, it helps.
It's Ok, I washed down these other egg rolls with another rueben egg roll.
I didn't order it or look to see if it was on the menu... But a side of thousand island would have been the Pinnacle of taste. 😘🤌🏻
I also had a glass of water. And washed down my water with a other bite of rueben egg roll.
I recommend making a trip here next time...
