I can't say enough good things about my breakfast this morning at The Early Bird Diner. This hidden treasure is sure to be my go-to spot for breakfast every time I'm in the Mon Valley with a hankering for a veggie omelet. The staff was friendly, and the whole look of the place had a throwback vibe that filled me with nostalgia for days gone by. As I already alluded to, the veggie omelet was "fire" (as the kids would say). Speaking of kids, my girlfriend's son was blown away by the size of the pancake! It was much bigger than his head, which is proven by the picture I've provided. My girlfriend and our friend Mike are both meatheads, and they enjoyed the variety of breakfast proteins...they both commented several times on the high quality of the bacon and sausage. My compliments to the chef, as well as the entire staff who made this breakfast experience one I'll always remember. I can't wait to go back!

Pleasant local diner whose owners have lived in the community and know it’s history. The food is good comfort food. Breakfasts and lunches are the diner standards: I highly recommend their Combination sandwich. Burgers are also solid choices (mushroom/Swiss). You will be full and content, regardless of selection. Donorans past and present will appreciate that this is on the site of the former Costas’ Restaurant. And the coffee is mild, pleasantly warm and palate-pleasing.

this was my first time here and I'm telling you in my ā€œoutside voiceā€ THIS WAS THE BEST BREAKFAST ON THIS SIDE OF THE VALLEYā€ šŸ˜šŸ˜Ž EVERYTHING WAS FRESH! COOKED HOMEMADE, not GREASY, oh my gosh! mmm THE BACON WAS FRESH AND CRISPY like BACON SHOULD BE, the SCRAMBLED EGGS WERE FRESH AND SEASONed WITH CHEESE, and the SAUSAGE LINKS WERE BOMB!! the WAITRESS WAS AWESOME! even the COFFEE WAS FRESH!

Went here on Sunday for the breakfast buffet. The food that I got to try was really good, but unfortunately they kept running out of almost everything before I could even try it. They didn’t bring out nearly enough food to keep up with demand. There were probably 15-20 people there for the buffet, but 3 people would wipe out all the food. The real disappointment was they would only bring out maybe 12 more pieces of bacon or sausage at a time; which literally the first person in line would take almost all of. I ended up getting hardly anything to eat due to this. While I don’t blame the restaurant for some peoples inconsiderateness, they definitely could have done better by bringing out more than just a handful more...
