Panela, Cocina Social — Restaurant in Dorado

Dinner 7/2020: COVID precautions: temperature check for everyone at the building entrance, indoor and outdoor seating available, tables with 3-5 meters of separation, all employees had masks and gloves. Given the timing I am very sensitive to precautions taken and felt at ease with the restaurants measures taken.

Food: -- Shrimp Fajita: for one, excellent grilled shrimp with the perfect amount of food. I have ordered this once before and returned to it because it was so delicious. highly recommend -- beef canoe: new menu item that was our favorite dish of the night. perfect blend of sweetness from the plantain and saltiness from the meat. -- Ceviche: fish of the day was cod, which had large chunks and tasted fresh. -- Clara 1900: I'm a whisky drinker and this was a perfect smokey old fashioned.

Service: excellent, we felt well attended to.

Other: inside felt a bit cold, so we ate outside where we enjoyed beautiful views of the golf course...

The food was absolutely delicious. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The steak fajitas are amazing. Not pictured are the salmon tartare and croquetas for apps. They were so delicious. The iceberg wedge salad was good as well with some pickled onions on the side. For dessert the apple crumble was warm and served with some vanilla ice cream. Probably my favorite ! The fudge cake came in two mini triangles with vanilla ice cream and some pecans around I believe. Overall great...

Great restaurant, nice bar and outdoor seating. They allow pets if you’re not bothering anyone and it’s very kid friendly too. Menu is long and the waiters are very cordial and service is very fast even when they are doing it out of the Melao kitchen during construction. Nice view and some light hours I never have to feel like I need to rush. You are also totally fine showing up without a reservation which is nice because it’s the accommodations are pretty comfortable so your time...
