I’m not a cookie-cutter bride. I never looked at my dream wedding as a plug-and-play type of day. I wanted where we get married to be as special as our relationship. Folklore isn’t the normal type of brewery/distillery/winery (or meadery) that you see in all the wedding magazines. It sits on a large open piece of land surrounded by woodland. A dirt path leads you up to what looks like someone’s house with all the trimmings of a lawn party set out and a big stage set off to the side. You’re greeted as if you’re a family member, not just a patron. Jeremy the owner will greet you, his dogs will come and drop toys off at your feet, and a brew cat will allow you to pet her from her throne.
The beer and meade is one of a kind. It’s a small but mighty operation. They have plenty of things to choose from and a knowledgeable staff to lead even the pickiest of booze drinkers to a new personal favorite. Fly by Night is their on-site grill which has daily offerings of pizza, pretzels with beer cheese, burgers, and everything you need to pull an-all dayer at Folklore.
We knew we wanted to get married here before we were officially engaged. Jeremy welcomed the idea with open arms and worked to make sure everything was perfect for our wedding. Being the first wedding hosted at Folklore he really listened to our ideas, let us go off menu for some items, and spent the week before our wedding insulating the patio. The team at Folklore worked so well with my wedding coordinator Kimberly (as in Kimberly Smith Events – go check her out right now). The staff went above and beyond on the wedding day. There was never a line at the bar and the buffet was delicious. We got to do our first look and several couple portraits in the brew house. They let us have the run of the facility!
I am eternally grateful for the entire team for making sure our day was...

Live music, open kitchen and plenty of great tasting brews in an indoor and outdoor setting that will literally blow you away. Short distance off Ross Clark Circle, down Hodgesville Road to Hagler Road in Dothan to find the brewery, but once there you will be impressed - GUARANTEED!
The Service Team stems from the parking area as a greeter ushers you into an open parking spot, to the folks behind the food and beverage counters. Food was varied to satisfy anyone’s palette, everything from traditional Cajun items like gumbo, muffulettas, to Po’ Boys to seafood (fried shrimp, oysters, fish), chicken, burgers and some of the best hand cut French fries in the area. We enjoyed the muffulettas and Shrimp Po’ Boy with a plentiful side of fries. Food was tasty, hot and well-seasoned.
My guess is they have at least thirty, if not more varieties of brews on tap and a cooler for take home beers. The Brewery is open seven days a week and among the guests was a good mixture of age groups, children playing in the play area, people playing corn hole, others listening to the band, and some with their pets. The atmosphere is very laid back and enjoyable. Staff is super friendly and outgoing.
From reading the posted advertisements, they have a variety of events and activities throughout the month for multiple ages. One activity we plan to return for is the Pints & Paints.
Don’t think one could ask for anything better on a warm mid-summer evening - delicious food with cold beer...
Read moreRead more5 stars---- For My first visit here, The lady working was very professional, informative and could have nice conversation. I fell in love with the atmosphere, and the nostalgia of History of the place. 1 star----And not creepy as the guy barely working the 2nd time I visited, the atmosphere was stale and non friendly, when he came outside and sat down he was enamored in his media device. He had absolutely no personality, wouldn't even casually carry on conversation, (bar tending used to be a social Job), not anymore, the only thing he wanted to talk about was the hollywood porn debacle dividing the nation, and I can get that at home on my home internet. When I did not indulge in such nonsense he went back inside like I ran him off!! Then there was another guy claiming he is homeless living in his pick up, I offered him work, gave my number, but he never called. Having that as business calling card, I'll stay home and wait for someone with work ethics and not expose myself to numb unintelligible atmosphere. It seems with my travels, it is becoming a dangerous norm, like a box of chocolates, I don't do nuts!! If you work in a public service job, at least have a welcoming,...
