Great Food, But Be Prepared for a Lively Atmosphere

My girlfriend and I decided to try Sugar Shack for the first time this past Saturday evening around 6:30 PM. Upon arrival, we noticed the parking lot was completely full, with overflow into the neighboring restaurant’s lot. Fortunately, we were able to find parking and headed inside to dine.

The place was packed, likely due to two birthday parties happening at the same time, making it quite loud and filled to capacity. Between the noise from the celebrations and the music, which was at a nightclub volume, it was challenging to have a conversation.

Despite the noise, the food was fantastic. I ordered the Shack Burger with fries and a side of fried shrimp, and everything was delicious! The shack sauce, in particular, is a standout.

My parents were visiting from CA recently, and we thought wings for lunch sounded good. My bf heard that The Sugar Shack was the place to go to get some good wings in Dothan, so we decided to all experience it for the first time together. We were very impressed! The servers/owners were all very kind and attentive, and the food was SOOO good. Getting the shacksters as a starter is a must. Also, order more wings than you think you’re going to eat because you’re going to wish you did. They are a bit on the smaller side, but the quality is unmatched! The perfect amount of crispy and juicy, and the shack sauce is delish. I only ordered 5, but when I was eating my last wing I wished I’d ordered 10. First time there was to celebrate our 35th anniversary and the owner Kevin greeted us and sat down and chatted and showed us around. My husband does not meet any strangers. We loved that first & foremost. He knows his regulars, makes the vibe that more enjoyable. There was great fun,music, and food enjoyed by all. Felt safe with the extra police patrol the owner has provided. the place is small so can get crowded to standing room. We drove 8 hrs to hangout there simply because of the vibe seen on social media.
